About this appAI proposal
Quietwall is a small social network for people you actually know. You make circles, such as family, climbing friends or a book club, and each has its own feed. Posts appear in the order they were made. No ads, no sponsored posts, no recommendations of strangers' content.
Members pay instead of advertisers. One person hosts a circle and pays a flat monthly fee; invited people read, post and comment free. That keeps the price low, since public comments doubt that users will pay what advertisers pay per user.
You control the feed: mute, pin, filter, set digests, and export everything at any time. Quietwall trades the reach of a mass platform for a calm place with a few people.

- Why this name
- A wall is where friends leave notes; quiet says what is missing: ads, noise and ranking. Two plain words joined, easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Circles, not a public feed
Each circle is private, with its own feed and members. Nothing reaches people outside it and nothing is ranked by engagement.
No member yet
Strict time order
Newest first or oldest first. No hidden ranking, no suggested posts, no ads. A 'caught up' marker tells you when to stop.

Host pays, guests join free
A circle host pays one flat fee. Invited members join without a subscription, so friends are never blocked by a paywall.

Feed controls you own
Mute people or topics, pin posts, filter by photos or notes, and pick a digest instead of constant alerts.

PricingAI proposal
The material gives no competitor subscription prices; it only cites Instagram ad revenue of about $27 per user per month, which users are said to be unlikely to match. These tiers are a starting point to test.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.
If it makes
Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. A host invites family and friends by link. Each guest sees the product in use, and can start a circle of their own for another group they belong to, such as a team or a club.
- Do they become customers?
- Guests are real users but pay nothing. To test: what share of guests start and pay for their own circle within 60 days, and whether that covers the free seats.
- First customers
- Adults aged 30-50 who organise a family or hobby group chat and already feel social feeds are noisy, starting with parents sharing photos with extended family.
- Where to reach them
- Parenting and family forums: Offer a free trial circle for sharing photos with grandparents, in communities where ad-free sharing is discussed.
- Hacker News and tech communities: Share the host-pays model openly and invite feedback from people already debating ad-free social pricing.
- First milestone
- Fifty hosts each paying $4 per month, with at least five active members in their circle after 60 days.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimInstagram generates substantial advertising revenue per user that would be needed to replace with subscription fees
- Public claimUsers are unlikely to pay subscription rates matching current advertising revenue per user
- Public claimThe financial model gap between ad revenue and what users will pay for ad-free access leaves advertising as the dominant monetization approach

RisksAI inference
- CommercialPublic comments doubt that users will pay enough to replace ad revenue. Host-pays pricing may still fail if few people will pay for a private circle.
- CommercialSocial products need friends on board. A host who cannot get their circle to post will cancel quickly, so early activity matters.
- PlatformWeb push and install prompts behave differently across phones, especially iOS, which may weaken digests and reminders.
- RegulatoryStoring family photos and user content brings privacy, child safety and takedown duties in several regions that need legal review.
- TechnicalPhoto and video storage cost grows with use and could erode margins at a $4 host price if limits are not set.
