About this appAI proposal
Oakpost gives a small team email on its own domain, plus shared calendars, video meetings, booking pages and file sharing, for one flat yearly price per account. Adding a colleague adds a mailbox, not a bill.
It is for startups and small businesses that outgrew free addresses but do not want a per-person charge that rises with every hire. Guided setup handles the domain records, and a mail import brings old history across.
Oakpost uses standard mail protocols, so you can read mail in any app and leave with your data whenever you like. An optional assistant sorts the inbox and drafts replies, and you approve before anything is sent.

- Why this name
- An oak is long-lived and shelters many; a post is mail. Two plain words that are easy to say, spell and remember.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Booking pages, meeting links and file-share links go to clients and partners, each carrying a small Oakpost mention. Mail sent from the product can also carry an optional footer.
- Do they become customers?
- Recipients are often small business owners who could sign up, but a booking link opened once is exposure only. Test how many link visitors start a trial, and whether the footer is allowed.
- First customers
- Founders of two-to-ten-person agencies and studios paying per seat today for Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, who own their domain and handle their own IT.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and indie forums: Post a migration write-up with cost comparisons from the verified pricing pages and invite people to try the import.
- Agency and freelancer communities: Offer to migrate a team's mail for free in exchange for feedback and a quote.
- Search content: Publish guides on moving email to your own domain and cutting per-seat costs.
- First milestone
- Twenty small agencies pay for a year after a full mail import, and at least 15 are still sending mail after 60 days.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedMicrosoft 365's pricing page lists 4 paid plans, from RON 484.99 to RON 1099.99 a year

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalRunning mail delivery well is hard. Poor sender reputation or blocklisted IPs would send customers' mail to spam and hurt trust quickly.
- CommercialAt a very low flat price, support time per customer could exceed revenue. Domain setup and import problems are the likely drivers.
- RegulatoryHosting business mail means handling personal data, so data-protection duties, abuse handling and lawful requests apply from day one.
- PlatformLarge mailbox providers may throttle or reject mail from new small senders, and can change their rules without notice.
- AIAn assistant that reads mail raises privacy concerns and may draft wrong replies. It needs clear consent, opt-out and approval before sending.
