About this appAI proposal
Tidewatch reads public filings and news and turns them into plain-language briefs for individual investors. It tracks 13F filings and other SEC disclosures from the investors you choose, and shows what they added, trimmed or exited.
For each idea, Tidewatch suggests a position size from your portfolio and the risk level you set, and shows its reasoning and source documents. Nothing goes to your broker until you review and confirm the order yourself.
It is for retail investors and small traders who now do this by hand across filings, news sites and spreadsheets. Tidewatch is a research and sizing aid, not personalised financial advice, and you stay in charge of every trade.

- Why this name
- Tides are slow, public and readable, like filings. Watch suggests observing first, then acting on your own terms.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users can share a filing-move brief or a position-size card as a link. Recipients see the source filings and Tidewatch branding, and can run the same sizing on their own numbers.
- Do they become customers?
- Recipients are other retail investors who could sign up for the free tier. Test whether shared briefs convert viewers to free accounts, and free users to paid.
- First customers
- Self-directed US retail investors with $10k-$250k portfolios who already follow 13F filings by hand and trade a few times a month.
- Where to reach them
- Investing communities: Post free filing-change briefs in investing forums and subreddits and link to the free tier.
- Finance newsletters: Offer a sponsored weekly brief to independent investing newsletters.
- Content on X and YouTube: Publish short walkthroughs of how a filing becomes a sized, confirmed trade.
- First milestone
- Twenty free users stay active for four weeks, and ten of them pay for the Investor tier.

RisksAI inference
- RegulatorySuggesting position sizes and trades may count as investment advice or require registration depending on the country. Legal review is needed before launch.
- AIThe AI could misread a filing or invent a claim. Users could lose money on a wrong summary, so every claim must link to its source.
- Data13F filings are filed after the quarter ends, so they lag. Users may over-trust old signals, and the product must show filing dates clearly.
- PlatformBroker APIs may restrict third-party order placement or change terms. Starting read-only with order drafts is a fallback.
- CommercialFree filing sites already exist. Retail investors may not pay for sizing and journaling unless it clearly improves their results.
