About this appAI proposal
Tallyfold is a policy-first cost tool for engineering and cloud operations teams running several cloud accounts. You write rules in plain language, such as 'stop dev instances at night' or 'flag untagged storage older than 30 days'. Agents check your accounts against them and propose fixes.
Every fix arrives as a reviewable change with its estimated saving, the resource it touches and a way to undo it. Nothing runs until a person approves it, unless you switch a rule to automatic. Governance checks and cost findings share one list, so teams can drop spreadsheets and ad hoc scripts.
It is built for small and mid-size platform teams without dedicated FinOps staff. Setup starts with read-only access, so you see findings before granting any write permission.

- Why this name
- A tally counts spend; a fold is a crease that shrinks something. Together they suggest counting costs and folding them down.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Plain-language policies
Write a rule in a sentence. Tallyfold turns it into a checkable policy you can preview against real resources before enabling.

Approval queue for fixes
Each suggested change shows saving, risk and rollback steps. Approve one, approve a batch, or let trusted rules run on their own.

Read-only start
Connect accounts with read-only roles to get findings first. Add write access per account or per policy only when ready.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.

Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Tallyfold is used inside a team's own cloud accounts. Owner-routing emails reach other engineers, but they act on findings and do not necessarily see a product they would buy.
- Do they become customers?
- Owner emails show the name to colleagues who may be platform leads. Test whether recipients sign up for their own accounts. Otherwise growth depends on content and direct outreach.
- First customers
- Platform or DevOps leads at software companies of 20 to 100 engineers, running two to ten cloud accounts, with no dedicated FinOps person.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source communities: Join GitHub and forum threads on cloud cost tooling and offer free read-only scans to people asking for help.
- DevOps meetups and Slack groups: Demo a read-only scan and invite leads to run it on one account.
- Founder-led outreach: Message platform leads directly with a sample findings report for their stack.
- First milestone
- Ten free scans on real accounts and three teams paying for Team within 60 days.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialThe material shows one public signal, a GitHub repository gaining stars, and no named competitors or prices. Willingness to pay is unproven.
- TechnicalCloud accounts differ widely. Safe write actions and reliable rollback are hard to get right for each resource type.
- AIThe model may misread a plain-language rule and match the wrong resources. Preview and approval steps must catch this.
- RegulatoryHolding access to customer cloud accounts invites security reviews, and buyers may ask for compliance attestations.
- PlatformCloud providers change APIs and billing data formats, so connectors need ongoing upkeep.
