About this appAI proposal
Slipway is a workspace for specialty and wholesale brokers. Drop in a submission (emails, PDFs, spreadsheets) and it reads them, builds one clean risk summary, and lists what is missing before you go to market.
It drafts the follow-up request to the client, tracks what has come back, and prepares a packet for each insurance market you choose. Replies from every market are collected on one board so you can compare them side by side.
Nothing is sent without your approval. Every extracted field links back to its source page, so you check the work in seconds instead of retyping it. It is a tool for your brokerage, not a replacement for it.

- Why this name
- A slipway is where a vessel is launched. A submission is launched to market the same way, and the word is plain and easy to say.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.

Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Clients receive chase requests and markets receive packets from the broker. Each carries a small 'prepared with Slipway' note and a link to upload missing documents.
- Do they become customers?
- Clients rarely buy broker tools, but underwriters and other brokers' staff might. Test whether any recipients ask to use it themselves.
- First customers
- Small wholesale and specialty brokerages of 3 to 15 people placing one class of risk, such as marine or contractors, who handle submissions by email.
- Where to reach them
- Broker LinkedIn outreach: Message producers and account managers in one class, offering to process three of their real submissions.
- Industry associations: Join regional broker association events and webinars; offer a hands-on demo.
- First milestone
- Five brokerages in one class pay for a month after processing their own live submissions.

RisksAI inference
- AIWrong extracted values could reach a market. Source links and mandatory approval help, but accuracy on real submissions must be measured.
- RegulatoryInsurance placement is licensed activity in many places. The product should stay a broker's tool, with the broker responsible.
- TechnicalPacket and reply formats vary and many markets lack APIs, so email-based flows may limit how much can be automated.
- DataSubmissions hold confidential client data, so brokers will ask for strict security and retention controls.
- CommercialPublic claims say a brokerage already runs AI agents in production with paying customers, so a rival exists and is ahead.
