About this appAI proposal
Slatemeter is a single interface for generating images, video, audio and 3D assets. You or your software agent describe the asset and a budget. Slatemeter picks a suitable model, shows the estimated cost, and spends only once the request is approved or falls inside a rule you set.
It is built for agent developers and game teams who work in tools like Blender, Unity or Unreal Engine and are tired of juggling separate generation services, keys and price lists.
Each character and brand gets a saved reference sheet that is applied to every request, whichever model handles it. That keeps the look steady across a project instead of drifting from one tool to the next.

- Why this name
- A slate marks a take in film; a meter shows what is being spent. Together they say: controlled media production.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One request, any media type
Ask for an image, clip, voice line or 3D model through one API and one MCP tool. Slatemeter routes it to a fitting model.

Price before you spend
Every request returns a cost estimate first. Approve it, or set rules so small jobs run on their own.

Character and brand sheets

The material gives no competitor prices. These tiers are a starting point to test. A small share on routed generation costs could be tested later.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Partners and integrations. An open MCP server and plugins for Blender, Unity and Unreal let agents and studio tools call Slatemeter. Listings in agent tool directories and engine asset stores put it where developers already look.
- Do they become customers?
- People using the plugin are the buyers, so reach can become paying users. Test whether solo developers on the free tier upgrade once budgets or character sheets matter to a team.
- First customers
- Small indie game studios of 3 to 15 people using Unity or Unreal who already pay for several generation services and have one technical lead.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source MCP community: Publish a free MCP server and example agents on GitHub, where interest in this area is already visible.
- Game developer communities: Share cost-saving case studies in engine forums and indie dev Discords.
- Direct outreach: Contact studio technical leads who post about AI asset pipelines and offer a free setup session.
- First milestone
- Five indie studios paying for Studio for two consecutive months, each routing at least 500 requests a month.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 967 stars in 60 days
- Public claimDevelopers need to pick the right model, price before spending, and keep characters and brands consistent when generating production media

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalKeeping a character consistent across different models is hard. Reference conditioning may work well on some models and poorly on others, so the promise needs testing.
- CommercialModel providers may add their own routing and cost controls, or developers may decide a thin script is enough, which would weaken the case for paying.
- DataCost estimates depend on provider price lists that change often and may not be published for every model. Wrong estimates would break trust.
- Intellectual propertyCustomers upload reference art and get generated assets. Provider terms and output ownership vary, and the product must show them clearly.
- PlatformReliance on third-party model APIs means outages, rate limits or terms changes can break routing.
