About this appAI proposal
Shotlane turns a plain photo of your product into the images a marketplace listing needs: a clean main shot, lifestyle scenes, close-ups and a size-context view. Upload photos, pick a brand style once, and get a batch back for each listing.
It is built for sellers with roughly 50 to 200 products on Amazon, Etsy and similar platforms, who cannot pay enterprise prices for imagery and do not want to commission a photographer for every item.
The difference is the rules, not the prompt. Each brand style carries locked constraints: background, lighting, crop, product proportions and marketplace size limits. Images that break a rule are rerun or flagged before you see them.

- Why this name
- A shot is a photo; a lane is a fixed track. Shotlane suggests images that stay inside the lines, which is the promise of locked brand rules.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Brand style locks
Save background, lighting, palette and crop once. Every new listing follows the same look, so the whole catalog reads as one shop.

Constraint checks before review
Each image is checked for product shape, label legibility, color match and marketplace size rules. Failures are rerun, not handed to you.

Image set per listing
One photo yields a main image, lifestyle scenes, detail crops and a size-context shot, sized for the marketplace you pick.

Catalog batch upload
Drop in a folder or CSV of products. Shotlane queues them and shows progress per listing.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Shotlane makes images that sellers publish on marketplaces, but they carry no visible Shotlane mark, so use does not bring in new customers by itself.
- Do they become customers?
- Reach comes from sales, content and communities. Test whether sellers will pay after a free sample set of one listing.
- First customers
- Etsy and Amazon sellers of home goods with 50 to 200 listings, run by one to three people, who now pay for photos or edit them by hand.
- Where to reach them
- Seller communities: Offer free sample sets in Etsy and Amazon seller forums and groups, and ask for feedback on the checks.
- Direct outreach: Message shops with inconsistent images, with a before and after of one of their listings.
- Hacker News and indie sites: Share a write-up of the constraint approach and invite people to try it.
- First milestone
- Five paying sellers in one vertical, each with 50+ listings, where most images are uploaded without edits.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimEcomtent charges enterprise sellers $2,500+ per month for similar AI-generated product imagery
- Public claimA product generating product images at $4.50 per listing is underpriced relative to the $3,000 problem it solves
- Public claimThe optimal market segment is 50-200 product sellers
- Public claimWorkflow reliability and constraint systems that ensure production-ready outputs are the key differentiator, not the underlying AI model
- Public claimThe product has 9 paying customers with clear product-market fit in e-commerce imagery

RisksAI inference
- AIGenerated images may alter product details, logos or text. If the checks miss this, sellers upload misleading images and trust is lost.
- CommercialPer-image model costs may eat the margin at low per-listing prices; the real cost per usable set must be measured.
- PlatformAmazon and Etsy may change image or AI-disclosure rules, which would change what counts as ready to upload.
- CommercialThe 95% usable-without-edits goal is a claim from public discussion, not verified; it needs testing on real catalogs.
- Intellectual propertySellers may upload photos they do not own, and generated scenes may resemble protected designs.
