ScreensConcept
Desktop app: Knowledge workers use it for long stretches across email, notes and meetings with dense knowledge graphs and context—fundamentally a desk-based workspace tool. Sample screens on a computer, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Benchrow puts an AI assistant on the surfaces where knowledge workers already work: a mail view, a notes view, a meeting view and a research view. Each surface shares one knowledge graph, so the assistant knows what you read, wrote and agreed to elsewhere.
It is for professionals who juggle email, notes, meetings and browsing every day, and for small teams who want a workspace they can shape. Users of chat-only assistants say they want something less like a chat app and more like a work app. That is the gap Benchrow targets.
You can build your own surface from blocks: a source, a prompt and an output. Nothing is sent to the model until you approve the context it will see.

- Why this name
- A bench is the surface where a craftsperson keeps tools and work in reach. 'Benchrow' suggests a row of work surfaces side by side. It is short and plain.

AI on every surface
Draft replies in mail, tidy notes, and summarize meetings in place. No copying context into a chat window and back.

Shared knowledge graph
People, projects and decisions link across email, notes and meetings, so the assistant answers with the full picture.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users share custom surfaces and meeting briefs as links. Recipients can open a read-only view, then install the surface template into their own workspace.
- Do they become customers?
- Recipients see Benchrow only once per link. Test whether they install a shared surface and then sign up, and whether teammates convert to Team seats.
- First customers
- Independent consultants and small agency leads who handle client email, meetings and notes daily across several tools.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News: Show a demo of a custom surface build and ask for feedback from people discussing work-surface AI.
- Consultant communities: Offer a client-brief surface template in forums and newsletters for independent consultants.
- Surface template gallery: Publish free templates people can share, with a link back to the product.
- First milestone
- Ten independent consultants use it weekly for a month and five pay for Pro.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformA PWA cannot reach the whole desktop, such as other apps' windows or local files. The product may feel narrower than the desktop platform in the opportunity.
- CommercialLarge assistant vendors may add work surfaces to their own apps, and free local-first tools set low price expectations.
- DataReading email and meetings raises privacy concerns. Buyers may need proof of what is stored and sent to models before trusting it.
- AISuggestions that are wrong or off-tone in a work inbox erode trust fast. Approval steps add friction.
- TechnicalMail and calendar connectors need provider approvals and ongoing maintenance, which can delay launch.
