About this appAI proposal
Tallyhook gives a small marketing team one workspace for checks a larger department would split across many tools. Paste a page, an ad or an email and get a score with the specific fixes behind it. Audits, copy grading, hooks, ad diagnosis, regional targeting, email, launches and pricing share one scale.
It is for marketers at startups and mid-market companies who already work with AI assistants such as Claude, Codex or Cursor. Results are saved as reports, so quality checks no longer depend on who happened to review the work.
Unlike generic prompts, each module returns a score, a short reason and a next step. Unlike single-purpose tools, you keep one login and one history to compare this week's work with last week's.

- Why this name
- Tally is the count of a score; hook is the opening line every marketer fights over. Two plain words that say what the product does.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Teams send read-only scored reports and launch plans to clients, founders and colleagues. Each report carries a small Tallyhook mark and a link to run the same check on your own work.
- Do they become customers?
- Report readers are often marketers or founders who could run their own check, but a one-time viewer may never sign up. Test how many report views lead to a free signup and a paid seat.
- First customers
- Marketing leads and solo marketers at seed to Series B software startups with teams of one to five who already use Claude or Cursor daily.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and skill communities: Offer the free tier to people starring or using open-source marketing skills, with a connector they can install in minutes.
- Founder and marketing communities: Post teardown reports of public landing pages scored with Tallyhook and invite readers to score their own.
- First milestone
- Ten teams of two to five people in software startups on a paid Team plan within 60 days of launch.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialUsers can already run similar prompts in Claude or Cursor for free. The paid value must come from consistent scoring, history and reports, which has to be tested.
- AIScores come from a language model and may vary between runs or feel arbitrary. Fixed rubrics and example-based checks are needed to keep them steady.
- PlatformSkill formats and terms of Claude, Codex and Cursor can change, which could break the connector or limit distribution.
- DataUsers paste unreleased copy, pricing and ad results. Clear data handling and no training on customer content are needed for trust.
- CommercialThe evidence is GitHub interest, with stars verified but adoption only claimed. Stars may not turn into paying teams.
