About this appAI proposal
Quietstack is a self-hosted harness that runs AI-assisted pentesting workflows end to end on your own machine. You bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key; the agent plans and drives reconnaissance, enumeration, and exploit-testing steps against targets you are authorized to test, while every finding, log, and intermediate artifact stays on your disk.
It is built for professional penetration testers, bug bounty hunters, and security lab operators who are tired of stitching scanners and proxies together by hand, or of sending client engagement data through a third-party cloud platform they don't control. Quietstack replaces manual orchestration with an agent that reasons over tool output and decides the next step, but never phones home.
Unlike cloud pentesting platforms, nothing about the target, the findings, or the session leaves your infrastructure except the prompts you choose to send to your chosen model provider. Unlike raw frameworks like Metasploit or Burp Suite used by hand, Quietstack keeps a running plan, a findings ledger, and an audit trail so an engagement is reproducible and reportable, not just a pile of terminal history.

In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Bring-your-own model key
Connect your own OpenAI or Anthropic API credentials. Quietstack never proxies your keys through a hosted backend; calls go straight from your machine to the provider.
No member yet
Local-only session store
Every target, scan result, and agent decision is written to a local Postgres instance you control. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or retained by Quietstack.
No member yet
Agent-driven recon and enumeration
The agent sequences reconnaissance and enumeration steps, interprets tool output, and proposes the next action, cutting down the manual back-and-forth between tools.
No member yet
Exploit-testing guidance, not auto-fire
For exploitation steps the agent proposes a reasoned next move and the evidence behind it; you approve each action before it runs against a live target.

Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Findings ledgers and engagement reports generated by Quietstack can be exported and shared with clients or team leads, carrying the product's name into every report a pentester delivers.
- Do they become customers?
- Clients who see a Quietstack-branded report are a one-time exposure, not a lead; the real test is whether other pentesters on a team or MSP adopt it after seeing a colleague's workflow.
- First customers
- Independent bug bounty hunters and small boutique pentest shops (2-10 person teams) already running their own tool stack and comfortable self-hosting.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and security OSS community: Open-source the core harness, as the evidence shows prior traction (421 stars in 49 days) in this exact community, and engage via issues and discussions.
- Bug bounty and pentest forums/Discords: Share engagement walkthroughs and the scope-guardrail feature where bounty hunters and researchers already discuss tooling.
- Security conferences and CTF events: Demo the agent live solving a CTF-style scenario to reach lab operators and researchers who value local control.
- First milestone
- 20 paying Team-tier self-hosted deployments or 5 Lab/MSP support contracts within the first 90 days after public launch.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 421 stars in 49 days
- Public claimBrings own AI model API and keeps sessions local, addressing control and data residency concerns
- Public claimServes authorized pentests, bug bounty, security labs, and CTFs use cases

RisksAI inference
- AIAgent may propose an action outside authorized scope or misinterpret tool output, leading to an unauthorized or disruptive action against a live target.
- RegulatoryEven with local data storage, pentesting against systems without proper written authorization carries legal exposure that the product cannot itself verify.
- TechnicalSelf-hosted deployment with local Postgres, containerized tool execution, and BYO API keys raises the setup bar and could slow adoption versus a hosted competitor.
- CommercialMonetization beyond a thin paid tier depends on support/consulting or MSP licensing, which requires sales effort the evidence does not yet validate demand for.
- DataPrompts sent to the user's own model provider may still contain sensitive target data, meaning 'local only' does not fully apply once the API call leaves the machine.
