About this appAI proposal
Tideline Watch is a portfolio monitor for people who manage their own money across A-share, Hong Kong and US markets. Add your holdings and a watchlist, and it follows prices and news, then tells you in plain language what changed and how it touches your positions.
Instead of refreshing quote pages, you set rules once: price moves, news on a holding, concentration limits. Alerts arrive on your phone as a short note, not a raw ticker. Each morning and evening it writes a one-minute report on your portfolio.
It is for self-directed investors who want to choose their own AI model and keep their data portable. You can export everything and bring your own model key. It does not give trading advice or place orders.

- Why this name
- A tideline marks where the water reached. The name suggests watching markets rise and fall and noting the level calmly.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users can share a report or alert card as a link showing a holding's move and explanation, with the product name on it. Recipients see the page without an account.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers are other investors, so some may sign up, but a one-off link may bring only views. Test whether shared report links lead to sign-ups.
- First customers
- Self-directed investors holding both A-shares and US or HK stocks, with 10 to 50 positions, who now check prices manually.
- Where to reach them
- Investor communities: Post in cross-market investing forums and chat groups with a free report sample.
- Open-source communities: Reach users of self-hosted portfolio monitors on GitHub and offer a hosted option.
- Content: Publish weekly sample reports for public tickers to show what the product writes.
- First milestone
- Fifty free sign-ups and ten paying Investor subscribers within 60 days, from cross-market holders.

RisksAI inference
- DataReliable real-time quotes for A-shares, HK and US carry licensing terms and cost. Free feeds may be delayed or restricted from redistribution.
- RegulatorySummaries that read like advice could fall under investment advice rules in some regions. Wording and disclaimers need legal review.
- AIThe AI may explain moves wrongly or cite unrelated news. Alerts need source links and a clear separation of facts from commentary.
- CommercialOpen-source projects with similar scope exist, and interest in them may not turn into paying users. Willingness to pay is untested.
- PlatformWeb push on some phones is limited, which could delay time-sensitive alerts unless the app is installed.
