About this appAI proposal
Ledgerlore is a searchable library of tax and compliance rules by country. Each rule shows its official source, the date it was last checked, and the accountant who reviewed it. You can read it on your phone before a client call, or pull it into your own AI workflow.
It is built for accountants, CPAs and tax professionals who work across borders, and for developers who build AI tools for them. Instead of trusting a general chatbot's memory, you work from rules that carry a visible review status.
Teams can pin the jurisdictions they care about, get alerts when a rule changes, and export rules as structured data with their sources attached. Every answer can be traced back to a source.

- Why this name
- A ledger is the accountant's book; lore is knowledge handed down and checked. Together: a trusted record of rules.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Accountants send clients a summary link listing the rules, sources and review dates. The link carries the product name and a way to browse the library.
- Do they become customers?
- Clients who open a link are rarely buyers; accountants they know may be. Test whether recipients who are themselves advisers sign up from the shared page.
- First customers
- Small cross-border accounting practices of 2 to 15 people that advise on VAT and corporate tax in two or three neighbouring countries.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source tax rules community: Offer the library to the GitHub project's contributors and followers, and invite them to review rules and try watchlists.
- Accountant communities online: Post worked examples of sourced rule lookups in accounting forums and LinkedIn groups for international tax.
- First milestone
- Ten practices using watchlists weekly for a month, and five of them paying for the Practice tier.

RisksAI inference
- DataCovering 190+ countries with current, correct rules needs many reviewers. Stale or thin coverage would destroy trust quickly.
- RegulatoryUsers may treat rules as tax advice. Disclaimers and clear review status are needed, and liability for errors must be settled with a lawyer.
- AICited answers can still misread a rule or blend rules from different periods, which is costly in tax work.
- CommercialThe core database is free and open source. It must be shown that accountants will pay for alerts and summaries, not only use the free data.
- CommercialThe only evidence of demand is repository stars, a public signal. Paying demand is not yet shown.
