About this appAI proposal
Tapelog is a trading journal and review desk for people who trade China A-shares within the day. You log each trade in a few taps, note how you felt, and the app lines it up against the intraday price and the market theme that was moving at the time.
After the close, an AI reviewer you choose reads your day and points out patterns: chasing a theme late, selling winners early, repeating a loss after a streak. Each week it writes a short summary you can compare with the last one.
Today these steps are spread across charting apps, spreadsheets and alert tools. Tapelog puts them in one place on your phone, and lets you bring your own AI key so you decide which model sees your notes.

- Why this name
- A tape is the running record of trades, and a log is the journal. Together they say: keep the record, then learn from it. Two plain English words.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users can share a weekly review card or a session replay link with trading friends and groups. The card shows the lesson and the Tapelog name, with no account numbers.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers are other traders, so some may sign up. Test whether people post cards in trading chat groups and what share of viewers start a journal.
- First customers
- Individual intraday A-share traders who already keep a spreadsheet or notes of their trades and use an AI chat tool.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub community: Engage users of the open-source A-share tool in its issues and discussions, and offer a hosted option.
- Trading chat groups: Share sample weekly review cards in Chinese trader groups and forums.
- Short video: Post walk-throughs of a replayed trading day with the mood notes.
- First milestone
- Twenty traders keep a journal for four weeks, and five of them pay for the Trader tier.

RisksAI inference
- DataA-share market data is often licensed. A feed that permits redistribution in a paid app may cost more than the tiers bring in.
- RegulatoryOutput that reads as investment advice may fall under securities rules in China. The app must frame AI output as personal review, not recommendations.
- AIAI reviews may state patterns the data does not support. Each point should link to the trades it is based on.
- CommercialA free open-source tool exists for this audience, per the GitHub evidence. Users may self-host rather than pay.
- PlatformAccess for Chinese users depends on hosting, network reach and payment methods. Stripe and Vercel may not suit them.
