About this appAI proposal
Reelbench is one workspace for making AI video. Generate images and clips, try the same shot with different models and settings, and place the results straight on a timeline. Upscaling, lip-sync and voiceover are steps in the same project, so files never leave it.
It is for AI video creators, content creators and marketing teams who now juggle many tools and tabs. Every clip keeps its prompt, model, settings and alternate takes. Swapping a take on the timeline does not mean rebuilding the edit elsewhere.
Finished projects can be saved as templates. Teams re-run them with new inputs, and AI agents can find and run them through an API.

- Why this name
- A bench is where you work on parts and try things side by side, and a reel is the finished film. The name joins the two.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One timeline for generation and editing
Generate a clip and it lands in the timeline. No download, no re-import, no second editor.

Takes: compare models on one clip
Run the same shot with different models and settings. Keep all takes under the clip and swap them in place.

Built-in finishing steps
Upscale, lip-sync and add voiceover as steps on a clip, with each result kept next to its source.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Creators share review links and finished videos. Viewers see a small Made with Reelbench mark on free-tier output and can open a public template to run their own copy.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers are mostly audiences, not buyers. Test whether template links shared among marketers and creators lead to sign-ups and paid upgrades.
- First customers
- Solo AI video creators and small marketing teams who already make short ads or social clips from several generation tools and edit them elsewhere.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and Show HN: Post a demo of the takes-on-timeline flow. The source post shows interest from creators unhappy with current tools.
- AI video creator communities: Share free templates in forums and Discords where creators trade prompts and workflows.
- Agent and automation builders: Publish the template API with examples for agent and automation tools.
- First milestone
- Ten paying creators or small teams who finish a multi-scene video in Reelbench without an outside editor.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedHacker News post received 40 points and 18 comments
- Public claimAI video creators must currently use multiple specialized tools (image generation, image-to-video, upscalers, lip-sync, voiceover, and editor) and repeatedly export/import between them.
- Public claimThe fragmented workflow causes assets to become scattered and makes iterating on multi-scene videos slow.
- AI inferenceUsers lose significant time to repetitive glue work such as downloading files, tracking prompts/versions, and stitching clips in separate software.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformThe product depends on third-party model APIs. Access, pricing or terms may change, and not every model offers a public API.
- CommercialModel makers may add their own editors. Margins on resold credits can be thin if model costs are high.
- TechnicalA browser timeline with large video files is hard to make smooth on phones. Preview proxies and server renders add cost.
- Intellectual propertyUsers may generate content that infringes rights or breaks model terms. Output ownership terms vary by model.
- CommercialDemand evidence is a single Hacker News post with 40 points and 18 comments. Willingness to pay is not shown.
