About this appAI proposal
Plainroom puts notes, tasks, projects, a simple money ledger, a calendar and file storage in one app. It is for freelancers and small teams who now pay for several separate tools and copy information between them.
What sets it apart is that everything links. A task can point to a note, a project holds its own invoices and expenses, and a file attaches to the event it belongs to. Open a project and you see its work, dates, documents and money together.
One subscription replaces several. It is an installable web app for phone and desktop, so there is nothing to set up beyond signing in.

- Why this name
- A room holds everything you need in one place. Plain and room are everyday words, easy to say and spell.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Linked notes, tasks and projects
Mention a task inside a note or attach a note to a project. Links go both ways, so context follows the work.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. A freelancer or team lead invites teammates and clients into a shared project. Each invitee sees tasks, files and dates in Plainroom and can start their own free workspace.
- Do they become customers?
- Invitees can become paying customers if they run their own work. Test how many guests on shared projects create their own workspace and upgrade, versus only viewing.
- First customers
- Solo freelance designers and developers who pay for three or more separate tools and send invoices to clients, working alone or with up to three collaborators.
- Where to reach them
- Freelancer communities: Post a short comparison of tool costs and a free template project in freelancer forums and groups.
- Open-source productivity circles: Share progress in GitHub discussions where people already ask for consolidation.
- Direct outreach: Offer a free migration of notes and tasks to 20 freelancers in exchange for feedback.
- First milestone
- Ten freelancers use it for a real project for 30 days, and five of them pay for Solo.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialNotion and Google Workspace are established and cover parts of this. Breadth may feel shallow next to specialist tools, so people may not switch.
- TechnicalSix tools in one is a large scope. Offline sync and conflict handling across notes, tasks and files could slow a first version.
- DataSwitching needs good import. If migrating from existing tools is painful, trial users may not move their data.
- RegulatoryStoring financial entries and files means privacy duties and user expectations for security. It is a ledger, not accounting or tax software.
- CommercialDemand is only a public claim plus one repository's star growth. Willingness to pay for a bundle is untested.
