About this appAI proposal
Threadlight turns raw AI agent conversations into answers anyone on the team can read. It groups conversations by intent, shows how usage changes over time, and lets a product manager or designer see what users ask for and where the agent fails, without writing SQL or asking an engineer to dig through logs.
It is built for product managers, designers and engineers who ship agent products together. Everyone works from the same shared views, notes and saved questions, so a finding from one person becomes something the whole team can open, check and act on.
Tracing tools show one run in technical detail. Threadlight shows the pattern across all of them: is this failure one odd case or thousands? It sits beside your tracing tool and links back to the full trace when an engineer needs it.

- Why this name
- Conversations are threads; a light makes patterns across thousands of them visible to everyone, not only engineers.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Intent map
Conversations are clustered into intents automatically. Browse, rename, merge and split them, and watch volume per intent change week by week.

Ask without SQL
Build a chart by picking an intent, a segment and a measure, or type a plain-language question. Save it as a shared view.

Is it widespread?
Open any bad conversation and see how many others share its pattern, so one anecdote is not mistaken for a trend.

PricingAI proposal
Starting point to test. The Team price follows LangSmith's verified single paid plan at $39 a month (free plan, larger customers on request). The material gives no volume-based prices, so caps are to be tested.

What it could be worthEstimate

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. A product manager finds an issue and shares a view or note. Designers and engineers open it, need access, and are invited into the workspace with a role.
- Do they become customers?
- Invited teammates sit in the same company, so they can become seats on one paid plan. To test: how many invitees return weekly and whether seat growth leads to upgrades.
- First customers
- Product managers at B2B software companies with a customer-facing AI agent, a team of 5 to 30, and engineers who now field log-investigation requests.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and builder forums: Post a teardown of finding a widespread agent failure without SQL, and invite readers into a free workspace.
- Direct outreach to agent PMs: Message product leads on LinkedIn who ship agents; offer a free analysis of an exported log sample.
- Agent engineering communities: Share an open export-to-Threadlight guide in Slack and Discord groups where agent builders discuss tracing.
- First milestone
- Five teams with at least one non-engineer using it weekly, and two converting to paid within 60 days.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimTeams at scale struggle to process and make sense of intent data; high volumes of conversations and intents require data engineering pipelines to store and categorize data usefully.
- Public claimLangSmith is the leading observability tool for AI agents but is not designed for collaborative analytics or non-engineer access.
- Public claimNon-technical team members cannot self-serve analytics and must request engineers to manually investigate logs, a time-consuming process that may not reveal if issues are widespread.
- Public claimHomegrown internal solutions become uneconomical to maintain as team size and agent usage grow, due to requests for new dashboards and data cuts.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalClustering thousands of intents across millions of conversations must stay accurate, stable week to week and affordable; unstable labels would erode trust in every chart.
- DataConversations contain personal and sensitive data. Buyers will expect redaction, retention controls and clear handling before they send logs.
- CommercialTeams already on a tracing tool may see this as a feature that tool could add. Demand for a separate product is only a public claim so far.
- PlatformIngestion depends on export formats and APIs of tracing tools and agent frameworks, which can change or be restricted.
- AILLM-generated intent labels and plain-language answers can be wrong, and a confident wrong insight could send a team in the wrong direction.
