About this appAI proposal
Ringwork is a phone-calling API for developers building AI agents and assistant apps. Send a plain English task and one or more phone numbers. Ringwork navigates menus, waits on hold, talks to whoever answers, and returns a structured result with a recording and transcript.
It is built for products that need to reach local businesses: is a restaurant open, does a clinic accept new patients, what does a service quote cost, or a short survey. No voice agent to design, host or tune.
Calls run in parallel, so an agent can ask twenty places at once instead of one after another. You define the fields you want back, and each answer links to the audio behind it.

- Why this name
- A ring is a phone call, and work is the job done on it. Two plain words joined, easy to say and spell.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Task in plain English
Describe the goal and pass numbers. No call scripts, flows or voice agent setup for simple tasks.

Parallel calling
Submit a batch of numbers in one request and get results as each call finishes, not one at a time.

Menu and hold handling
Presses through phone menus, waits on hold, and speaks only once a person is on the line.

Structured answers
Declare the fields you want, such as accepts_patients as true or false, and get typed values back with a confidence flag.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.

Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Partners and integrations. Ship a tool definition and SDK that agent frameworks and assistant apps add as a phone-call function, listed in their tool directories and docs.
- Do they become customers?
- Developers who add the tool are the paying customers, but their end users only see results. Test whether agent builders convert from the free calls to paid usage.
- First customers
- Small teams building consumer assistant or local-search apps that need to check business details, such as hours, availability or quotes, by phone.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and Show HN: Post a demo of one agent calling a dozen places in parallel, with the recordings.
- Agent developer communities: Share a drop-in tool spec and example agents in Discord and GitHub communities.
- Direct outreach: Message founders of local-service and assistant apps with a working demo for their use case.
- First milestone
- Ten developers use their free calls on real tasks, and three move to paid usage within 60 days.

RisksAI inference
- RegulatoryAutomated and recorded calls fall under rules on AI voices, consent to record and telemarketing. These differ by country and state and may limit which tasks are allowed.
- TechnicalMenus, accents, long holds and unexpected answers make results unreliable. A wrong answer returned as fact could damage trust.
- CommercialVoice agent builders may add a simple task mode, and per-minute telephony and AI costs may leave thin margins.
- PlatformCarriers may flag high-volume outbound AI calls as spam, which blocks numbers or lowers answer rates.
- AIThe agent may mislead or annoy a business, or be pushed off task, so disclosure and guardrails are needed.
