About this appAI proposal
Pagemend watches your repositories and support channels, notices when a change makes a help page wrong, and drafts the fix as a pull request against your docs. It also retakes the screenshots that the change affected, so images stay current instead of being dropped.
Built for small software teams and open-source maintainers who write user-facing docs and ship often. You teach it your voice from your own existing pages and a short style note, and every draft is held for review. Nothing is published without a person approving it.
The aim is different from a generic AI writer: short, specific edits in your tone, each linked to the change that caused it, at a price a small team can afford.

- Why this name
- Mend is what you do to something worn; page is what you mend. Two plain words that say the job without sounding like AI.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Detects docs that a change made wrong
Reads merged pull requests and issues, then points to the doc pages whose steps, settings or labels no longer match.

Screenshot refresh
Replays the saved steps for each screenshot against your staging app and proposes updated images beside the old ones.

Voice profile from your own pages
Learns tone, terms and formatting from pages you pick, and flags drafts that drift into generic wording.

Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Docs pull requests and the public changelog of refreshed pages carry a small 'Updated with Pagemend' note that open-source contributors and maintainers of other projects see.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers are maintainers and doc writers, who could become buyers, but a footer note may only be seen. Test whether free open-source users bring commercial teammates or employers.
- First customers
- Open-source maintainers and teams of 5 to 30 engineers at developer-tool startups who keep docs in a Git repository and ship weekly.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and dev forums: Share before-and-after examples of docs pull requests on real public projects, with the maintainers' consent.
- Open-source maintainer communities: Offer the free plan to a few projects and ask for public feedback on draft quality.
- Direct outreach to dev-tool startups: Message docs owners at small companies whose screenshots are visibly out of date.
- First milestone
- Ten open-source projects using it weekly, and five commercial teams paying for Team within 90 days.

- AI inferenceStale screenshots are excluded from documentation despite being helpful, due to maintenance overhead
- Public claimEarly documentation generation tools produce generic, verbose output that sounds like AI rather than matching team voice

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalScreenshots need login, test data and stable steps in a staging app. Setup per product may be hard, and flaky replays could produce wrong images.
- AIDrafts may state wrong facts or miss the team voice. Trust is lost fast if reviewers must rewrite most drafts.
- CommercialAn established competitor already offers the same idea and charges $500 a month. Small teams may stay with manual work or free AI tools.
- DataTeams must grant access to private code and support chats. Security review and clear data handling could slow sales.
- PlatformDepends on GitHub and Slack app permissions and API limits, and on the many doc platforms teams use.
