About this appAI proposal
Trailhand sends autonomous browser agents through your web app the way real people use it. They find user journeys, note where things get stuck or break, and save each path as an end-to-end test you can run in CI. It is for engineers and QA teams who cannot write and maintain enough scripted tests by hand. Agents use the real app instead of heavily mocked code, so the coverage is closer to what users do.
Scripted tests stay in your repo as ordinary code. Agent runs add broad exploration on top, and you review each finding before it becomes a test. You pay for the scale of testing you need, not for hours of test upkeep.

- Why this name
- A trail is a path through an app, and a trailhand is the one who walks it first. The name is two plain words joined, easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Journey discovery
Agents explore your staging or preview URL and map the flows they find: sign-up, checkout, settings and the less obvious paths.

Friction findings
Dead ends, slow steps, console errors and broken states are listed with a replay, so you see what the agent saw.

Tests you can export
Turn any journey into a Playwright-style test file. Review it, edit it, and commit it to your repo.

CI runs on every pull request
Run saved tests and a short agent sweep on each preview deploy. Results post back as a check on the PR.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Trailhand reaches customers through sales, developer content and CI integrations. Exported tests live in customer repos without a visible brand, so its own use does not bring new users.
- Do they become customers?
- Teammates who see PR checks may become users, but this is unproven. Test whether engineers who see PR checks ask to try it and whether QA leads convert from a free pilot.
- First customers
- Engineering leads at web SaaS startups of 10 to 50 engineers who already run Playwright in CI and have thin coverage on core flows.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and dev forums: Post public sweep results on open-source demo apps and answer testing threads with concrete findings.
- Direct outreach: Offer a free sweep of a staging app to engineering leads and send back a short findings report.
- GitHub Marketplace: List a CI action that runs saved tests and posts results on pull requests.
- First milestone
- Five paying teams in web SaaS, each running Trailhand checks on every pull request for 30 days.

RisksAI inference
- AIAgents may report false problems or miss real ones. Each finding needs a replay and human review, or trust will fall quickly.
- TechnicalApps behind logins, two-factor prompts, or with live payments are hard to explore safely. Test accounts and sandbox data are needed.
- CommercialA public claim says a similar product is already in production at $1000/month. Standing out against it and Playwright-based setups must be tested.
- CommercialModel and browser costs per run may eat margin at flat or unlimited pricing. Usage caps may be needed.
- DataAgents touch staging data and may see customer-like information. Teams will ask about data handling before they connect an app.
