About this appAI proposal
Lodgepole gives an AI agent a working backend in one request. The agent asks for a space and gets a database, sign-in, live presence and data streams, all through plain GET URLs. No keys are pasted into a chat, and nothing is set up by hand.
It is made for developers who build apps with code-generating agents, and for the agents themselves. It works inside tight sandboxes such as artifact previews, where only simple GET requests get through and nothing is cached by mistake.
Each space is scoped and short-lived by default. You see what the agent created, set limits, and claim the space as a permanent project when the app is worth keeping. Until then, your own credentials never leave your account.

- Why this name
- The lodgepole pine is a fast-starting tree that grows where others cannot. It fits a backend that springs up in tight, bare sandboxes.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One-request provisioning
An agent calls a single GET URL and receives a ready database, auth and sync endpoint for its app.
No member yet
No credential sharing
Agents get scoped space tokens, never your account keys. Revoke any token with one tap.
No member yet
GET-only API
Reads and writes work as GET calls with cache-safe signed URLs, so they run in sandboxed previews.
No member yet
Auth, presence and streams
Ready-made building blocks for sign-in, who is online, and live updates, with no setup code.

PricingAI proposal
Supabase's pricing page lists a free plan, two paid plans from $25 to $599 a month, and prices on request for larger customers. These tiers follow that shape; the Team price is a starting point to test.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Visible inside customers’ products. Apps an agent builds on a space can carry a small 'Powered by Lodgepole' badge and a claim link. People who open or fork the generated app see the backend name and can claim the space.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers of a generated app are mostly end users, not builders. Test whether forkers and the developers who run the agents click the claim link and upgrade to Builder.
- First customers
- Solo developers and small teams who build prototypes with code-generating agents and hit credential or setup friction on every new app.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and developer forums: Post a demo of an agent building a live app in an artifact preview with no keys, and answer technical questions.
- Agent prompt and template sharing: Publish copy-paste prompts and starter templates that call Lodgepole, shared where agent users swap setups.
- Open-source examples: Release small example apps on GitHub that run on a free space and link to the claim flow.
- First milestone
- Fifty spaces claimed and ten paying Builder customers within eight weeks of launch, mostly from agent users.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalWrites over GET break web norms and can be triggered by prefetchers or replays. Signed single-use URLs and idempotency keys are needed, and may be hard to make reliable.
- CommercialEstablished backend platforms could add an agent-friendly mode, and a free sandbox tier may attract users who never pay.
- DataMany cheap, abandoned spaces raise storage and cleanup costs, and expiry must delete data safely.
- PlatformAgent tools and preview sandboxes may change network rules, blocking calls to outside hosts.
- AIAgents may create unsafe access rules or loop on calls. Defaults, spend caps and review of generated rules must hold up in practice.
