About this appAI proposal
Keeptill is a checkout and point-of-sale app for merchants who want to accept Bitcoin without handing money to a processor. You connect your own wallet key and, if you want Lightning, your own node. Payments go from the customer to you; Keeptill never holds funds.
Use it at the counter on a phone or tablet, send payment links by message, or add a pay button to your site. Each sale is matched to an order automatically, with receipts and an export for your bookkeeping.
It is built for small shops, market stalls and fundraising pages for whom running a full self-hosted server is too much work. Setup is guided, and the open core can be moved to your own hosting later.

- Why this name
- A till is where a shop keeps its takings. Keeptill says the money stays with the merchant, in two plain, easy-to-say words.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Non-custodial by design
Addresses come from your public wallet key and Lightning invoices from your node. No funds pass through us, and spending keys are never requested.

Counter mode
Type an amount or pick items, show a QR code, and see a clear paid screen the moment the payment is seen. Installs on a phone or tablet.

Payment links
Create a link for an invoice or one-off sale and send it by chat or email. Customers pay on-chain or over Lightning from the same page.

Automatic order matching
Every payment is tied to its order with a status: unpaid, seen, confirmed or expired. No more checking the wallet by hand.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Payment links, receipts and fundraiser pages are opened by customers and supporters, each showing a small 'Powered by Keeptill' line that Starter users cannot remove.
- Do they become customers?
- Payers are mostly consumers, but fundraiser organisers and other merchants who see the page may become customers. Test how many link views lead to sign-ups.
- First customers
- Independent cafes, market stalls and small online shops in Bitcoin-friendly towns, run by owners who already hold Bitcoin and decide on payment tools themselves.
- Where to reach them
- Bitcoin community forums: Offer free setup help to merchants asking for a simpler self-custody checkout, and share a demo.
- Local merchant meetups: Run in-person counter demos at Bitcoin meetups and markets and onboard shops on the spot.
- Open-source communities: Publish guides and a plugin so users of self-hosted processors can try Keeptill's hosted control.
- First milestone
- Ten merchants in one region take at least 20 real payments each over a month, and five move to the paid Shop tier.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalReliable payment detection, address reuse, fee changes and Lightning node outages are hard to get right; a missed payment erodes trust fast.
- CommercialThe free self-hosted open-source option exists, so merchants may not pay for convenience unless setup effort is clearly lower.
- RegulatoryEven non-custodial tools may face rules on virtual asset services and tax reporting that differ by country and need legal review.
- PlatformCamera, install and offline behaviour of a PWA vary across phones and may limit counter use compared with native apps.
- DataPublic wallet keys reveal a merchant's full payment history if leaked, so storage and access must be tightly handled.
