About this appAI proposal
Tabshelf is a browser extension and web app for people who keep dozens of tabs open while they research and work. Save a window as a named session, sort tabs into collections, and bring back exactly what you need, one tab or the whole set.
It is built for knowledge workers and researchers who outgrow simple list savers. Full-text search across saved tabs, notes on each session, and optional sync across your devices keep a long project findable weeks later.
Tabshelf is a proposal. It aims to fix gaps users see in current tab managers: weak search, limited organization and awkward restore.

- Why this name
- Tabshelf says plainly what it does: a shelf where open tabs rest until you need them again. Two plain words, easy to say.

Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users publish a collection or session as a read-only link, such as a reading list or research pack. Recipients can open all tabs and see a small Tabshelf mark with a save-a-copy button.
- Do they become customers?
- Recipients are often other heavy tab users and could install it, but this is untested. Test how many shared-link visitors install the extension and how many of those create a first session.
- First customers
- Academic and industry researchers, such as graduate students and analysts, who routinely keep 50+ tabs open and already use a tab saver.
- Where to reach them
- Chrome Web Store listing: Publish with search terms around tab sessions and import from OneTab, Toby and similar lists.
- Research communities: Share in grad student and analyst forums with a workflow post and free import tool.
- GitHub open source tools: Engage users of existing open-source tab managers who ask for search, sync or better restore.
- First milestone
- Five hundred installs from researchers and twenty-five paid sync subscribers within two months.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformExtension store review rules and Manifest changes can delay releases or limit tab access. Chrome, Firefox and Safari each need separate packaging.
- CommercialSeveral free tab managers already exist. Users may not pay for sync or search, so willingness to pay is unproven.
- DataSaved tabs reveal browsing habits. Storing them in the cloud needs clear privacy terms and ideally encryption.
- TechnicalFull-text search of page content needs page capture, which adds permissions, storage cost and sync conflicts.
