About this appAI proposal
Pewbook keeps your church's people, families, attendance, giving, volunteers and events in one place that works on any phone. It is built for small and mid-size congregations that run on spreadsheets, paper lists or a monthly subscription they would rather not pay.
Volunteers see their own schedule and confirm with one tap. Ushers check people in from a phone. Treasurers record gifts and print year-end statements. Leaders see who has gone quiet and who is new.
You can export all your data at any time, so the records stay yours. It is a new product, designed for people who are not technical and for the one volunteer who ends up running the church's records.

- Why this name
- A pew is where a congregation sits together. Short, plain, easy to say, and it points at gathering without using religious jargon.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
People and families
Households, members, visitors and notes in one directory. Import from a spreadsheet and fix duplicates before they spread.
No member yet
Phone check-in
Ushers or teachers tap names to record attendance at services and classes. Works with a weak signal and syncs later.
No member yet
Volunteer rosters
Build a rota by team and date. Volunteers confirm or swap by link, with no account needed. Reminders go out by email.

Giving records
Log gifts by fund and method, and produce yearly statements per household. Online giving is left for later.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.
If it makes
Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Members receive volunteer schedule links, event sign-up pages and giving statements from the church. These carry a small 'Made with Pewbook' line, and sign-up pages can be shared on church sites and social posts.
- Do they become customers?
- Members and volunteers are often on church staff or boards of other churches, so some may become buyers. This is unproven; test whether visitors to sign-up pages ask about it and whether any start their own church.
- First customers
- Single-site churches of 50 to 250 people run by a part-time administrator or volunteer, currently using spreadsheets, in one denomination or region.
- Where to reach them
- Denomination admin forums: Offer to import a church's spreadsheet for free in exchange for feedback, in groups where church administrators ask for help.
- Local pastor networks: Run short demos at regional pastor and church-office meetings.
- Open-source migration guide: Publish a guide for moving data out of self-hosted tools into Pewbook, aimed at people who searched for church software.
- First milestone
- Ten churches in one region using it weekly for attendance and volunteer rosters for two months, and three of them paying.
Why people already pay for this

- Public claimChurches need integrated solutions for member, family, group, event, attendance, giving, and volunteer management
- Public claimSubscription costs and data ownership concerns drive demand for alternative solutions
- AI inferenceThe market for church management software has sustained interest with nearly 1000 GitHub stars and significant forking activity

RisksAI inference
- CommercialA free, open-source option already exists. Churches may stay with it, and paying for hosted convenience is unproven.
- DataMember and giving records are sensitive. A breach or poor role control would damage trust quickly.
- RegulatoryGiving statements and tax receipts differ by country. The first version must pick one country or leave out tax formats.
- TechnicalOffline check-in needs reliable sync in a PWA, and iOS limits background sync.
- CommercialChurches buy slowly and rely on word of mouth. Migrating from old data is a barrier.
