About this appAI proposal
Tickwatch watches the jobs you run on your own servers. Add one line to the end of a cron job or script that calls a URL. If the call does not arrive when expected, Tickwatch tells you by email or push notification.
It is made for developers who self-host and run a handful of custom scripts: backups, renewals, syncs, cleanups. Setting up a check takes under a minute. There are no agents to install and no dashboards to build.
Tickwatch keeps to the basics: a list of jobs, their last ping, and alerts. You can also read status from a terminal over SSH, so you never need a browser to check on a server.

- Why this name
- A tick is one regular beat, like a cron run, and watch is what the service does. Two plain words, easy to say and type.

Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One-line ping URL
Each job gets a private URL. Add a curl call at the end of your script and the job is monitored.

Missed-run alerts
Set the expected schedule and a grace period. If no ping arrives in time, you get an alert.

Start and fail signals
Ping at start, at success, or at failure, so you see jobs that hang or exit with an error.

Email and push alerts
Choose email, phone push or both for each job, and set how often repeat alerts go out.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Tickwatch reaches customers through developer content, launch posts and search. Ping URLs and alerts go only to the owner, so use does not show the product to new people.
- Do they become customers?
- Readers of developer forums can sign up directly, since they have the same problem. Test whether a free tier converts to paid once users pass five jobs.
- First customers
- Solo developers and small teams who self-host apps on their own VPS or home server and run custom cron scripts such as backups and syncs.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and Show HN: Post a short launch note. The source thread drew 81 points and 35 comments, which shows interest in a minimalist tool.
- Self-hosting communities: Share setup guides and a ready curl line for common jobs like backups and certificate renewal in forums and subreddits.
- Developer blog posts: Write how-to posts on monitoring cron jobs, aimed at people searching for the problem.
- First milestone
- Fifty signups with at least one live job each, and five paying customers within eight weeks of launch.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialExisting services cover this need, per the material. Tickwatch must win on being simpler and cheaper to start, and a free tier may keep most users from paying.
- TechnicalThe monitor itself must stay up and send alerts reliably. A missed or late alert would break the core promise.
- PlatformWeb push on phones varies by browser and OS, especially on iOS, so email must work as a dependable fallback.
- TechnicalAn SSH-based interface adds a service to run and secure. It may be better to start with a CLI over HTTPS and test whether users want SSH.
