About this appAI proposal
Lotkeep turns scattered crypto history into a tax report. Add exchanges by file or read-only key, and wallets by public address. It matches buys to sells lot by lot and shows gains under FIFO, LIFO or HIFO, so you can compare methods before you file.
It is made for individual investors and traders with assets spread over many wallets, exchanges and chains. Transfers between your own accounts are matched, not counted as sales, and anything unclear is queued for you to fix.
Your data is processed in your browser and stored encrypted. Reports come as Form 8949 style tables and CSV that you or your accountant can use. Lotkeep is a calculation tool and does not give tax advice.

- Why this name
- A lot is the unit of cost basis, the thing tax rules track. Lotkeep says the job in two plain words: keep every lot straight.

Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users send the report pack (8949-style tables, CSV, audit trail) to their accountant, who sees a Lotkeep-branded, read-only summary link and can export the lot detail.
- Do they become customers?
- Accountants who open the link could become paying users for several clients; this is untested. Test whether accountants sign up or ask for a client-sharing plan after receiving two or three packs.
- First customers
- US individual traders with 3 to 6 exchanges and wallets who file Form 8949 and care about privacy, starting with people already using open-source portfolio trackers.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source crypto communities: Post a free import and lot-matching demo in GitHub discussions and forums where privacy-minded portfolio tracker users talk.
- Crypto subreddits and forums: Answer cost basis and transfer-matching questions with a free tool, then offer the report export.
- Independent accountants: Offer free report packs to crypto-focused preparers and ask for feedback on the format.
- First milestone
- Fifty free users import data and ten pay for a full report on one tax year.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalCovering many exchanges and chains means constant maintenance of importers and token data. Wrong or missing data produces wrong tax numbers.
- RegulatoryTax rules differ by country and change often. Launching with US-style reports only limits the market, and errors could create liability for users.
- CommercialEstablished paid tools exist and the material shows an open-source privacy-first tracker with a large following. Users may not pay for a similar offer.
- DataReading on-chain history needs third-party indexer access, which has costs and rate limits that could conflict with a browser-only privacy promise.
- PlatformBrowser storage can be cleared by the device. Users could lose imported data unless they back up or enable sync.
