About this appAI proposal
Rowlane is a spreadsheet for agencies that pull lead, contact and campaign data from several tools. Instead of exporting CSVs and joining them by hand, you connect your own provider accounts and let each column fill itself, row by row.
Set an order of providers for each column. If the first has no answer or fails, Rowlane tries the next, and you can cap what each row may cost. Add AI columns that read other cells and write a result, such as a short summary or a category.
It is built for marketing and recruiting agencies who already think in rows and columns. The sheet is the workflow, so there is no separate pipeline builder to learn and no browser scraping.

- Why this name
- A row is the unit agencies work in, and a lane is the path each row takes through providers. Two plain words joined.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Waterfall columns
Pick providers in order for any column. Rowlane tries each until one returns a value, then stops.

Failover handling
If a provider times out or errors, the row moves to the next one and the failure is logged.

Cost caps per row
Set a maximum spend per row or per run. See the estimated cost before you start.

AI columns
Write a prompt that uses other cells. It runs on each row and fills the column.

The material gives no competitor prices. These tiers, based on rows processed, are a starting point to test. Provider and AI costs are billed by the providers on the user's own keys.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Agencies send finished sheets or read-only links to clients, who see the product name on the shared view and can open a copy of the sheet structure.
- Do they become customers?
- Clients who open a link are often other agencies' customers, not agencies. Test whether any click through to sign up, or ask which tool built the list.
- First customers
- Small recruiting agencies of 3 to 15 people that already pay for two or more contact data tools and build lead lists in Google Sheets.
- Where to reach them
- Founder communities: Post a worked example of a waterfall sheet in recruiting and growth agency groups and offer setup help.
- Direct outreach: Message agency owners who mention CSV exports and sheet joins, and offer to rebuild one list for free.
- Hacker News: Share a Show post with a free tier so the early audience can try it on a real list.
- First milestone
- Five recruiting agencies pay for a month after enriching at least 5,000 rows each.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimAgencies manually export CSVs from multiple tools and join them in Google Sheets as their current workflow.
- Public claimThe company has paying customers for their V3 product.
- Public claimUsers think naturally in rows and columns, making spreadsheet interface the right abstraction for the workflow.
- Public claimThe spreadsheet interface is foundational to the solution, not just a UI layer.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformEach data provider has its own API terms, limits and changes. Some may not allow their data to be combined or resold, and integrations need upkeep.
- CommercialAgencies may stay with Google Sheets plus CSVs if setup feels heavier than the manual joins. The material only shows one company claiming paying customers.
- TechnicalA spreadsheet with live per-row jobs, retries and costs is hard to keep fast and correct at tens of thousands of rows.
- DataContact data for recruiting and marketing falls under privacy rules in many regions. Customers need clear logs of sources.
- AIAI columns can return wrong or inconsistent values and costs can grow quickly without previews and caps.
