About this appAI proposal
Deskplot is a web app for planning how your Windows 11 desktop is grouped. Draw named zones, say which apps and folders belong in each, and save the result as a layout profile you can reuse for each kind of work.
It is meant as a companion to free, open-source desktop fence tools. Those place containers on your screen; Deskplot keeps the profiles, syncs them between your PCs and lets a team share one standard layout. Applying a profile on the PC needs an import file or a small helper (see risks).
The free tier covers planning and local export. Paid tiers add cloud sync, version history and shared team layouts.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users share a layout profile by link. Recipients see a preview of the layout and can import it, with Deskplot's name on the page.
- Do they become customers?
- Link viewers may be Windows users who can sign up and then import the layout. Test whether viewers create accounts and whether any move to paid sync.
- First customers
- Software developers on Windows 11 in small teams of 5 to 30 who use several monitors and want a shared standard desktop setup.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source fence tool community: Offer the file format and a free profile editor in the project's GitHub discussions.
- Developer forums: Post shareable layouts for common workflows on Reddit and Hacker News.
- First milestone
- Five small dev teams paying for Team seats, and 200 free users who export a profile.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformA PWA cannot control desktop windows. Value depends on a helper or on another tool importing the files, which adds install friction.
- CommercialThe open-source fence tool is free and its users may not pay for a companion service. Willingness to pay for sync and team layouts is untested.
- TechnicalLayouts vary by monitor, scaling and DPI, so a saved profile may not map cleanly onto another PC.
- Intellectual propertyTool names and file formats of other products must not be copied; the name needs a trademark check.
