About this appAI proposal
Paperkeep is a focused word processor for people who write documents and don't want another subscription. Pay once, install it from your browser as an app, and write offline. Documents are saved as files on your own device, not in an account you have to keep paying for.
It covers basic to intermediate needs: headings, lists, tables, images, comments, page layout, and export to PDF and Word format. It leaves out the cloud workspace, the chat sidebar and the template store.
It is meant for individual writers, students and professionals, Mac users first. As a PWA, the same purchase also works in other desktop browsers. You keep the version you bought; major versions are optional paid upgrades.

- Why this name
- Paper is the page you write on; keep is what you do with a purchase and your files. Two plain words in one.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Pay once, keep it
One purchase unlocks the app for good. No monthly fee, no expiring features. The version you bought keeps working.

PricingAI proposal
The material gives no verified competitor prices. $14.99 follows a public claim about a one-time-priced Mac word processor; treat it as a starting point to test. Paid major upgrades come later.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Exported PDFs and .docx files can carry an optional small 'Written in Paperkeep' footer, on by default in the trial. Recipients see the name when they open a document.
- Do they become customers?
- Recipients are often writers or students too, but a PDF viewer may not turn into a visit. Test whether footer links on trial exports lead to trials.
- First customers
- Students and freelance writers on Mac who dislike subscriptions and use Pages or Word only for plain documents.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and Reddit: Show the offline, one-time-price angle in Show HN and writing or Mac communities where subscription fatigue is discussed.
- Student communities: Offer a thesis-and-essay demo with Word export to university subreddits and study groups.
- First milestone
- 50 trial signups and 10 paid purchases at $14.99 from one audience, within 60 days of launch.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalFaithful .docx import and export is hard. Complex files from Word may lose layout, which would hurt trust with professionals.
