About this appAI proposal
Perch collects events from every app you maintain into one inbox you can open on your phone or in a browser. Send an event with a simple HTTP call or webhook, and it shows up as a push notification and a searchable entry, grouped by app.
It is made for developers and small engineering teams who run several apps and today juggle email, SMS, Slack and each platform's own alerts. Set routing rules once, instead of configuring every app separately.
Perch can run on your own server, so your event data stays yours and you are not locked to a vendor. If you would rather not host it, a managed plan runs it for you.

- Why this name
- A perch is a quiet spot where a watcher sees everything below. Short, pronounceable, and it suggests calm oversight of many apps.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. A developer invites teammates to the apps they share. Each invitee needs Perch to receive the same alerts, so use spreads within a team.
- Do they become customers?
- Invitees are engineers who can become team-plan buyers or start their own self-hosted setup. Test how many invited teammates add their own apps or upgrade.
- First customers
- Solo developers and teams of 2 to 10 engineers who run three or more small apps or side projects and now get alerts by email and Slack.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and open source: Publish the self-hosted version with a clear README and a managed-hosting link, where similar tools have gained stars.
- Developer forums: Share a write-up on replacing scattered alerts with one inbox in indie developer and self-hosting communities.
- First milestone
- Ten paying managed-plan customers from the self-hosting community within 60 days of launch.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 959 stars in 44 days
- Public claimA tool designed to notify developers when events occur in their applications, delivered to their phone

RisksAI inference
- PlatformWeb push on iPhones needs the PWA installed to the home screen, and delivery can be less reliable than native apps. Critical alerts may be missed.
- CommercialDevelopers may already have a free or self-hosted tool they like. The material shows interest but no evidence yet that people pay.
- TechnicalSupporting both self-hosted and managed versions doubles the work for upgrades, migrations and support.
- DataEvents may hold sensitive data such as user emails or error traces. Managed hosting needs clear retention and access rules.
