About this appAI proposal
Hushwatch is a web app you install on your phone or desktop. It builds a calm feed from the channels you follow and leaves out short-form clips. You choose what counts as short, and that choice stays set on every device you sign in on.
It is for people who watch long video on purpose, including those who already pay for ad-free viewing. Public comments describe browser-only fixes, workarounds that wear off, and no mobile option. Hushwatch is built to behave the same on every screen.
Videos open in the platform's own embedded player, so playback rules stay with the platform. Hushwatch does not promise to remove ads. It controls what you are shown before you press play.

- Why this name
- Hush is the quiet you get when the noise is gone, and watch is the one thing you wanted to do. Two plain words, easy to say.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Hushwatch is a personal tool, so use does not reach other people. Growth would come from content, community posts and word of mouth about how to remove Shorts on a phone.
- Do they become customers?
- Nobody else sees the product through use. Test whether search and community posts about hiding Shorts on mobile bring visitors who sign up and pay for sync after a free trial.
- First customers
- Adults who pay for ad-free video, watch mostly on a phone, and have publicly complained about Shorts returning after hiding them.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News: Post a Show HN with a short demo of the feed on a phone, and answer the questions about how it works.
- Reddit focus communities: Offer free early access in forums about digital minimalism and phone habits.
- Search content: Publish a guide on hiding Shorts on a phone, with the app as the setup that lasts.
- First milestone
- 200 people import their subscriptions and 20 pay for Plus within 60 days, with most still using it at week four.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimUsers already paying for YouTube Premium want distraction removal features as part of their subscription but it is not offered
- Public claimMobile app versions of distraction blocking solutions are needed but not available
- Public claimWorkarounds for hiding shorts are temporary and unreliable on mobile

RisksAI inference
- PlatformThe video platform's terms or API quotas may limit a third-party feed. Playback must use the official embedded player, and any change could break the product.
- CommercialUsers must leave the official app for a separate one. Many may not change their habit, and the evidence is only public comments, not paying demand.
- TechnicalTelling Shorts from normal videos by length and format will make mistakes, and the platform can change how it labels them.
- PlatformThe embedded player still shows ads to free viewers, and may not match Premium benefits. The product must not promise ad removal.
- Intellectual propertyUsing the platform's content and trademarks in a feed needs a legal review of brand-use rules.
