About this appAI proposal
Crateline is a buyer portal that sits in front of a Symfony e-commerce backend. Trade customers paste a SKU list, reorder a past order, request a quote and see their own price lists, all from an app installed on a phone or desktop.
It is made for B2B merchants and the developers who run their shops on Symfony. Instead of building a custom ordering front end for every client, the agency connects the shop API once and gives each buyer company its own catalog view, prices and approval rules.
It does not replace your shop engine. It handles the repeat-buying work that complex B2B shops tend to build by hand: bulk entry, negotiated prices, quotes and approvals.

- Why this name
- A crate is how trade goods move, and a line is a row on an order. Two plain words joined, easy to say and spell.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Paste-a-list ordering
Paste SKUs and quantities from a spreadsheet or email. Crateline matches them, flags unknown codes and fills the cart.

PricingAI proposal
The material gives no competitor prices. The tiers are a starting point to test. The source suggests open-source shops earn through support and services, so Crateline is priced as a add-on.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. A buyer admin invites colleagues and approvers into the company account. Merchants invite their trade customers to install the portal, so each new buyer company brings several users.
- Do they become customers?
- Invited buyers are customers of the merchant, not of Crateline, so the paying buyer is the merchant or agency. Test whether agencies who see the portal at one client add it for others.
- First customers
- Small Symfony agencies running B2B wholesale shops for 3 to 10 clients, where buyers still order by email or spreadsheet.
- Where to reach them
- Symfony community: Post in Symfony forums and Slack, and open an issue on the bundle repository offering a free connector pilot.
- Direct agency outreach: Email agencies that list B2B or wholesale shops in their portfolios, with a demo on a sample catalog.
- First milestone
- Three agencies each connect one live B2B shop, and at least one pays for the Trade tier within 60 days.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalEvery shop models prices, units and customers differently. A generic connector may need custom mapping work per merchant, which slows onboarding.
- CommercialThe evidence shows developer interest in a bundle, not that merchants pay for a separate buyer portal. Demand for this add-on is untested.
- PlatformDepends on the Symfony shop exposing a stable API. Changes in the underlying bundle could break the connector.
- DataNegotiated prices are sensitive. A leak between buyer companies would harm trust, so tenant isolation must be strict.
