Desktop app: Teams set up and manage AI automation within Slack with dense configuration, audit logs, and spend tracking—work that requires sustained focus and keyboard-heavy setup. Sample screens on a computer, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Quietdesk is a self-hosted AI workspace for small and mid-sized companies. It runs in your own cloud account or on your own hardware, lives inside Slack, and carries out tasks in the background instead of asking you to guide a chatbot step by step.
Instead of a per-seat licence, you pay the model providers you already choose for what the team actually uses. Quietdesk picks the cheapest model that can do each job, and shows the cost per task and per team.
Company data stays in your environment. Admins set which channels, files and tools the AI may touch, and every action is logged. The web console is a PWA for admins to review spend, tasks and permissions.

- Why this name
- Quiet describes work done without constant prompting; desk is the place your team already works. Two plain words, easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Works where your team already talks
Ask in Slack, get the result in the same thread. No browser tab, no copy and paste between tools.

Background task runs
Describe the job once. Quietdesk works through the steps on its own and pings you when it is done or needs a decision.

PricingAI proposal
The material gives one price point: about $30 per user per month for SaaS AI (a public claim). Flat tiers here are a starting point to test; model costs are paid to providers.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.

Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Reached through content, communities and direct sales. Slack users see results from the bot, but it is inside one company's workspace, so it does not spread by itself.
- Do they become customers?
- Colleagues see the bot but cannot buy it separately. Test whether a team lead who sees it can start a trial on a new team space.
- First customers
- Companies of 20 to 100 people that live in Slack, have one technical person on staff, and handle client data, such as small agencies or consultancies.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News: Share a write-up and install guide showing real cost per task compared to $30 per seat.
- Slack communities: Join ops and IT communities for small firms and offer a free pilot.
- AWS partner contacts: Reach small cloud consultancies who can install it for clients.
- First milestone
- Five companies run it for 30 days, and at least three pay for Team or Business.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimTop employees spend 10 minutes managing a chatbot just to get simple tasks done with existing AI tools.
- Public claimPer-user SaaS AI licenses cost $30 per month, making enterprise AI expensive for growing SMBs.
- Public claimSharing sensitive company data with public LLMs carries risk.
- Public claimChatbots require constant guidance; they do not work autonomously.
- Public claimSMBs need a solution that runs on their own infrastructure for data sovereignty and cost control.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalSelf-hosting means support for varied environments; installs may fail or drift, and updates must work without us having access.
- AIAutonomous background actions can go wrong. Approval steps and clear limits are needed before teams trust it with real work.
- CommercialSmall companies may not have anyone able to run infrastructure; they may prefer managed hosting, which weakens the data-stays-home pitch.
- PlatformDepends on Slack app rules and model provider terms, both of which can change.
- CommercialOpen-source or in-house alternatives could copy the idea; the savings claim needs to be shown with real customer spend.
