About this appAI proposal
Joinwright is a workspace for Java teams that build custom business applications such as CRM and ERP modules. You describe entities, screens, roles and approval flows in one place, and it produces a Java service project with the database, REST endpoints, forms, login and workflow wired together.
The output is plain source code in your own repository, shown as a diff you review before it merges. Nothing is hidden behind a runtime you cannot read, so a team can leave with the code at any time.
It targets the repeated glue work of joining databases, web services, UI, security and integration for each new project. The aim is fewer architecture decisions at the start, not a new language to learn.

- Why this name
- A joinwright makes joints between parts. The product joins database, services, screens and security, and shows the work.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One model for the whole stack
Define an entity once and get its table, REST endpoints, list and edit screens, and permission checks from the same definition.

Reviewable code export
Every change arrives as a pull request with a readable diff in standard Java. No black-box runtime.

Workflow designer
Draw approval steps, assignees and conditions. Steps compile to code your developers can test and extend.

Roles and access rules
Set who can see, edit or approve each entity and field. Rules are checked in the generated service layer.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.

Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. A developer invites business owners and reviewers to a project. They comment on previews and workflows, and each project is shared by the whole team.
- Do they become customers?
- Reviewers see the product but may not buy. Test whether a reviewer who sees a preview later asks for a workspace for their own department.
- First customers
- Small Java consultancies of 5 to 20 developers that build custom CRM or ERP modules for clients.
- Where to reach them
- Java community forums: Share a worked example that models an order flow and exports the code, and ask for feedback.
- Direct outreach: Contact consultancy leads on professional networks and offer a free pilot on one client project.
- First milestone
- Five consultancies each ship one client module using exported code, and two agree to pay for the Team tier.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalGenerated code must stay editable. If developers change it by hand, regenerating can overwrite their work, and merge handling is hard to get right.
- CommercialTeams that already use an integrated framework may see little reason to switch. The material names no competitors, so the gap is unproven.
- CommercialOpen-source frameworks cover this ground for free, so willingness to pay for a hosted modeling tool needs testing.
- PlatformRunning customer builds for previews costs compute and needs isolation. Margins on the Team tier could be thin.
- DataModels can describe sensitive business data. Enterprises will ask where models and previews are stored and who can read them.
