About this appAI proposal
Penline is a writing assistant for executives. You connect writing you already have: sent emails, memos, talks, posts. It builds a profile of how you argue, open, close and joke. Then it drafts new messages that sound like you, not like a generic AI tool.
Each draft shows which of your own past writing it drew on. You edit, and Penline records what you changed and why. Over time the drafts need fewer edits. A chief of staff or an agency can prepare drafts, but nothing goes out without the leader's approval.
It is built for leaders who write often and cannot hand it off without losing their voice. It keeps a running notebook of your positions and recurring ideas, so a post on Monday does not contradict a memo from March.

- Why this name
- A pen line is a single stroke of handwriting: personal and recognisable. The name is short, plain and easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Voice profile from your own writing
Import sent mail, documents and posts. Penline maps your sentence length, openings, stock phrases and tone, and shows the profile for you to correct.

Drafts with sources
Every draft links to the passages of your past writing it echoes, so you can see why it sounds the way it does.

Edit-by-edit learning
Accept, reject or rewrite a line. Penline stores the change and the reason you give, and applies it to the next draft.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.
If it makes
Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Drafts leave as ordinary emails and posts that do not show Penline, by design, since leaders want discretion. Growth comes from direct sales, content and agency partners rather than a product loop.
- Do they become customers?
- Recipients of the writing never see the product. Test whether agencies who bring several leaders convert into paying workspaces, and whether leaders refer peers by word of mouth.
- First customers
- Founder-CEOs of small and mid-size software companies who post publicly and write weekly team memos, plus the chiefs of staff who support them.
- Where to reach them
- Communications agencies: Offer a pilot to agencies that ghostwrite for executives, so they serve several leaders in one workspace.
- LinkedIn outreach: Message founder-CEOs who post regularly with a sample draft written from their public posts.
- Founder communities: Run a hands-on session in CEO peer groups, building a voice profile live for volunteers.
- First milestone
- Five paying leaders or two paying agencies, each reporting that edit time per draft falls over a month.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimEve has paying customers and is growing through an agency channel
- Public claimThe product uses a learning system that improves with each interaction
- Public claimThe system aims to produce content indistinguishable from what the executive would write

RisksAI inference
- AIOutput may sound close but still miss the leader's real views. Without careful review, a draft could state something they do not believe.
- DataExecutives' private emails and memos are highly sensitive. A breach or unclear data terms would end trust; strict isolation and deletion controls are needed.
- CommercialGeneric AI tools can be prompted with writing samples. Penline must show a clear gap in edit time to justify a paid seat.
- RegulatoryGhostwritten posts may need disclosure in some settings, and employers may restrict AI use for official statements.
- TechnicalMeasuring voice match is hard. A weak score could give false confidence or frustrate users.
