About this appAI proposal
Holdline keeps the requirements, constraints and decisions of a coding project outside your AI assistant's context window. When the assistant compacts its history or its window shrinks, Holdline restores what matters in one step instead of you re-typing it.
It is for professional developers and small teams who run long, detail-sensitive sessions with AI code assistants. You pin facts once, link them to files, and export a compact brief sized to whatever window you have today. It does not enlarge the model's window; it makes a smaller one lose less.
Unlike a bigger plan from a provider, Holdline works with any assistant that accepts pasted or file-based instructions, so a change in one vendor's limits does not break your workflow.

- Why this name
- A holdline is the rope that keeps a load from drifting. The tool does the same for requirements and decisions during long AI coding sessions.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Pinned decision log
Record requirements, constraints and past decisions as short entries, each tagged to files or modules, so they survive any session reset.

Token-budgeted briefs
Set your assistant's current window and get a brief that fits it, ranked by relevance to the task you are about to start.
No member yet
One-step re-anchor
After compaction, copy or save a fresh brief into your assistant's instruction file instead of restating everything by hand.

Drift check
Paste the assistant's session summary and see which pinned constraints it dropped or contradicted.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Teammates and reviewers receive a read-only project brief link showing the pinned decisions and constraints behind a change. Pull requests can link to it, so people outside the team see the product.
- Do they become customers?
- Reviewers are developers who may hit the same problem and sign up, but a link opened once may bring nobody. Test how many brief-link viewers create their own project within 30 days.
- First customers
- Solo developers and teams of 2 to 10 who use a paid AI code assistant daily on one large codebase and have complained publicly about context loss.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub issue threads: Offer the free tier to developers commenting on context-window regression issues, asking for feedback on the brief export.
- Developer communities: Post a worked example of re-anchoring a long session with and without a brief in relevant forums and newsletters.
- Direct outreach: Message small teams who open-source their assistant instruction files and offer setup help.
- First milestone
- Ten developers use briefs weekly for a month and five convert to the paid plan.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialProviders may restore or enlarge windows, or add built-in project memory, which would remove the main reason to pay. The product must stay useful at any window size.
- TechnicalRelevance ranking may pick the wrong entries for a brief, so a pinned constraint could be left out. Users need to see what was omitted and why.
- AIRe-injected briefs do not guarantee the assistant follows them. The drift check is heuristic and may miss subtle contradictions or flag false ones.
- PlatformAssistants differ in how they accept instruction files. Changes in their formats or limits could break exports and need ongoing upkeep.
- DataDecision logs may hold confidential product details, so teams will ask about storage, access control and retention before adopting it.
