About this appAI proposal
Fenceline is git hosting for companies that pay for it and expect it to work. Every customer runs in its own resource pool, so another customer's traffic, automated pull requests or heavy CI use cannot slow your pushes, clones or reviews.
Free and trial accounts never share capacity with paid teams. Usage limits are set per plan and published, and when a limit is reached the one responsible account is slowed, not everyone. You can see your own latency and queue times at any time.
Plans carry a performance guarantee with credits when it is missed. CI runs that fail because of the platform are not billed. Import from another git host keeps repositories, branches and pull requests.

- Why this name
- A fence line marks where your space ends and others' begins. That is the product: isolated capacity with clear limits. Two plain syllables, easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Isolated capacity per customer
Each organisation gets its own pool for git operations and builds. Other tenants' load cannot take your share.

Paid and free never mix
Free and trial accounts run on separate infrastructure from paying teams, so their traffic cannot degrade yours.

Per-plan usage limits
Limits on API calls, repository size and build minutes are published. Overuse slows only the account that causes it.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.
If it makes
Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Customers find it through sales, content and word of mouth among engineering leads. Contributors from outside the company can use repositories, but this is not a built-in growth loop.
- Do they become customers?
- Outside contributors who open a repository are mostly developers without budget. Test whether they pass the product to the engineering leads who buy, or whether direct outreach is needed.
- First customers
- Engineering managers or platform leads at software companies of 50 to 300 developers who pay for a hosted git service and have had outages or slow pushes.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and engineering forums: Publish a measured comparison of push and clone latency under load, and invite complaining paying teams to a pilot.
- Direct outreach to platform leads: Contact platform and DevOps leads with a free import and a two-week mirrored trial next to their current host.
- Engineering leader communities: Offer a founding-customer plan with a written guarantee in exchange for feedback and a case study.
- First milestone
- Five paying teams of 50+ developers running production repositories for 60 days, with measured latency meeting the guarantee.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimEnterprise customers paying for GitHub Enterprise experience poor performance due to lack of service tier separation and the provider prioritizing AI user growth over paying customer service quality.
- Public claimGitHub's service degradation is driven by executive priorities to maximize AI adoption metrics rather than business rationale around revenue or service quality.
- VerifiedGitHub Enterprise's pricing page lists 2 paid plans, from $4 to $21 by usage, plus a free plan
- Public claimTeams pay for GitHub but are affected by service degradation from other users' high-volume activity

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalHosting git, pull requests and CI with per-customer isolation is a large build. A small team may only match a thin slice of what teams use today.
- CommercialEnterprises have deep investment in their current host's integrations. Switching cost may outweigh performance complaints, which here come from public claims only.
- CommercialGuarantees and credits can cost more than expected if isolated capacity is underused or an outage hits many customers at once.
- RegulatoryEnterprise buyers will ask for security audits and data residency. Getting these certifications takes time before large deals close.
- PlatformThe incumbent could introduce tier separation, removing the main reason to switch.
