About this appAI proposal
Plainshot is a light practice log for golfers who use a launch monitor to get better, not to play a virtual round. It records each shot's numbers, pairs them with a video clip, draws the shot arc over it and saves everything to a session you can compare later.
It runs in the browser on an ordinary laptop or phone, with no gaming graphics card. The material describes existing simulators as costly, hardware-hungry and built around course visuals. Plainshot drops the scenery and puts metrics, dispersion and trends first.
Data stays on your device by default. Cloud history, pose overlays and sharing with a coach are optional extras.

- Why this name
- Plain says what it is: no course scenery, just the shot. Short, easy to say, easy to spell.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Live shot capture
Receive shot data from a supported launch monitor, or import a session file, and see each shot's numbers as it lands.
No member yet
Video paired to every shot
Record from a phone or webcam, or attach a clip. Each clip is trimmed and matched to its shot.
No member yet
Arc overlay on your swing
Draw the measured ball flight over your video, so you see the shot and the swing behind it together.
No member yet
Dispersion and averages by club
See carry, spread and misses per club, with outliers flagged so one bad swing does not skew your numbers.

PricingAI proposal
The material gives no competitor prices, only that E6 is expensive. These tiers are a starting point to test, mirroring the freemium, subscription and one-time options in the opportunity.

Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Golfers send coaches and friends a read-only link to a session page with clips, arcs and numbers. The page carries the Plainshot name and a link to start a free local log.
- Do they become customers?
- Coaches and playing partners who open a link may be golfers with a launch monitor and could sign up. Test how many link viewers start a log, and whether coaches adopt it for their own students.
- First customers
- Amateur golfers with a single-digit to mid-teens handicap who own a Garmin R10 and practise at a range or in a home net.
- Where to reach them
- Golf tech forums and Hacker News: Post a demo clip of a shot with arc overlay running on a low-end laptop, and invite feedback from DIY simulator users.
- Launch monitor owner communities: Offer early access in groups and subreddits for owners of personal launch monitors, in exchange for session data feedback.
- Local golf coaches: Offer a free Pro account to a few coaches who use share links with students.
- First milestone
- Fifty golfers log at least four sessions each in a month, and ten pay for Pro or the lifetime local plan.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimExisting golf simulator software is either too expensive or requires too much computing power like an RTX 3060, and focuses on visual fidelity of courses rather than shot improvement
- Public claimGolfers focused on improving their game do not need visual fidelity of real courses and instead need shot metrics and analysis

RisksAI inference
- PlatformWeb Bluetooth is not available in iOS Safari, so many phone users would need file import or a different route to get data from the launch monitor.
- TechnicalLaunch monitors may not expose shot data openly over Bluetooth. Connection could rely on reverse engineering or on export files, which can break.
- TechnicalMatching clips to shots and aligning an arc overlay to a phone camera angle is hard to make accurate without calibration.
- CommercialLaunch monitor makers could ship their own free analysis, and golfers may accept their device's app. Willingness to pay is unverified, resting on public claims.
- AIPose tracking from a single phone camera may be noisy, and poor feedback would hurt trust in the paid tier.
