About this appAI proposal
Shelfline is a headless commerce back end for small and mid-size retailers. Products, stock, orders and payments live in one place. Your website, mobile app, marketplace listings and shop counter all read and write to it through a GraphQL API.
It is for retailers who have outgrown a bundled store builder but cannot afford to stitch together separate product, order and inventory tools. You keep your own storefront, and you add channels without migrating.
Different from a monolith: the front end is yours. Different from a pile of tools: one stock count and one order history, with an installable phone app for the people running daily operations.

- Why this name
- A shelf holds the stock every channel draws from, and a line connects them. Two plain words joined, easy to say and spell.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.

Worth about
$190,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Partners and integrations. Ready-made connectors and storefront starter templates are listed in developer communities and partner directories. Agencies building custom storefronts for clients bring Shelfline in with each project.
- Do they become customers?
- Agencies and developers who pick it can become paying customers, as can the retailers they build for. Test whether agencies reuse it across several client shops.
- First customers
- Small retailers with 2 to 4 channels, selling on a web shop plus a marketplace or physical shop, and a freelance developer or small agency building their storefront.
- Where to reach them
- Developer communities: Publish a GraphQL storefront starter and a tutorial on connecting a web shop and a counter to one stock count.
- Freelance and agency outreach: Offer free setup help to five agencies with headless storefront clients in exchange for feedback.
- First milestone
- Five paying retailers on Starter, each selling on at least two channels with live stock sync for 60 days.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialOpen-source headless platforms already exist, and Shopify and WooCommerce are entrenched. A small team must win a narrow niche, not compete on features.
- TechnicalStock accuracy across channels under concurrent orders is hard. Overselling would quickly erode trust.
- RegulatoryHandling orders, customer data and payments brings tax, privacy and card-handling duties that vary by country.
- PlatformMarketplace channel connections depend on third-party APIs that can change or restrict access.
- CommercialRetailers who need headless often have developers who may prefer self-hosting rather than paying a subscription.
