About this appAI proposal
Hearthly Home puts a household's tasks, shared calendar, shopping lists, meal plan and budget in one place. Everyone in the family opens the same installable web app on their phone, and the plan stays in sync.
Families choose where their data lives: on their own server, or in a hosted space we run for them, with a full export at any time. No ads, no data sold, and no need to buy into one phone brand.
Unlike a stack of separate calendar, list and budget apps, the parts work together: a planned dinner fills the shopping list, and the grocery total lands in the budget.

- Why this name
- Hearth suggests the warm centre of a home and a place you own. Hearthly is easy to say and spell.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Shared family calendar
One calendar per household with a colour for each member. Import and export standard calendar files so nobody is locked in.

Tasks and chores
Assign jobs, repeat them weekly and tick them off. Everyone sees what is due today on one simple screen.

Meal plan that feeds the list
Plan the week's dinners and send the ingredients to the shopping list in one tap, merged with items already there.

Live shopping list
Members add and check off items at the same time. It works offline in the shop and syncs afterwards.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.
If it makes
Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. One parent sets up the household and invites partner, teens, grandparents and sitters. Each invite brings another person into daily use of the app.
- Do they become customers?
- Invited members are in the same household, so they rarely buy separately. Test whether invited adults go on to start their own household or recommend the app to other families.
- First customers
- Privacy-minded parents with children aged 5 to 15 who already run a home server or follow self-hosting communities, and want one shared planner.
- Where to reach them
- Self-hosting communities: Share the open Docker image and a setup guide in self-hosting forums and subreddits, asking for family feedback.
- Privacy-focused parenting groups: Post a short walkthrough of moving off cloud family apps, with a hosted trial for non-technical partners.
- First milestone
- Twenty families use it weekly for a month, and ten of them pay for the hosted plan.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedNotion's pricing page lists 2 paid plans, from €9.50 to €19.50 a month, plus a free plan and prices on request for larger customers

RisksAI inference
- CommercialFree self-hosted use may leave few people paying for hosting; the willingness of non-technical families to pay is untested.
- TechnicalSupporting both a self-hosted and a hosted build doubles testing, upgrade and migration work for a small team.
- CommercialFamilies may stay with free calendar and list tools they already share, so switching all members is hard.
- DataHosting family and budget data creates a duty to secure, back up and delete it; a breach would damage a privacy-led brand.
- PlatformOffline sync and notifications on installed web apps vary across phone browsers, especially on iPhone.
