About this appAI proposal
Keepsake Shelf hosts images for forum posts, blogs and communities, and keeps them online. Every image has a stable link. You can download your whole library as original files at any time, at no charge. Prices are written down and do not change for files already stored.
It is for creators, forum members and moderators who lost images when a free host moved to paid access or threatened deletion. Import old albums, find broken images in saved threads, and keep a copy you control.
Existing content is never locked behind a new fee. If an account lapses, images stay viewable and exportable for a stated period, with email notice before anything changes.

- Why this name
- A shelf is a quiet place where keepsakes stay put and you can take them down any time. The name promises that calm.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Stable image links
Each image gets a permanent link that works in forums, blogs and chats, and keeps working while your account is active or in grace.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.

Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Visible inside customers’ products. Images hosted on Keepsake Shelf appear in forum posts and blogs. Where a link is shown, a small optional viewer page or badge can point readers to the host and its export pledge.
- Do they become customers?
- Readers of a thread may be creators with the same problem, so some could sign up. Exposure alone is not acquisition. Test whether viewer-page visits turn into free signups and then paid plans.
- First customers
- Moderators and owners of hobby forums, 500 to 20,000 members, whose old threads have broken images from a former free host.
- Where to reach them
- Hobby forum communities: Offer moderators a free thread scan that shows the share of dead images, then invite them to a shared library.
- Hacker News and creator forums: Post a plain write-up of the price-lock and export pledge, and answer questions about terms.
- First milestone
- Ten forums each paying for a Community plan within 90 days, with at least half re-linking old threads.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimPhotobucket was dominant free image hosting in mid-2000s, leading many users to store images that became unavailable later
- Public claimPhotobucket charged for access to user images around 2017, years after users stopped actively using the service
- Public claimUsers face unavailability of stored images with messages indicating content is deleted or inaccessible
- Public claimPhotobucket engaged in threatening behavior regarding deletion of inactive user photos

RisksAI inference
- CommercialA long-term storage promise costs money for years. Free and lapsed accounts could cost more than they earn unless limits and the one-time Archive price are set carefully.
- CommercialHotlinking from forums can drive heavy bandwidth with no paying user attached. Bandwidth limits may be needed, which could clash with the no-surprise pledge.
- RegulatoryHosting user images brings takedown duties, copyright notices and illegal content handling. Moderation and a clear abuse process are needed from day one.
- TechnicalMatching dead links in old threads to re-uploaded files depends on users having copies. Many users may no longer have the originals, which limits recovery.
- CommercialTrust is the product. A new service must show it will last, and a shutdown would break the promise it makes.
