About this appAI proposal
Nibwrite is a writing workspace for people who already rely on large language models and want to steer them. Text streams word by word. Pause anywhere, see the model's likely alternatives for the next word, choose one, and generation continues from your choice.
It is built for translators, content creators and technical writers who now regenerate whole answers until the phrasing is right. Instead of accepting or rejecting a full result, you shape the direction as it forms and keep what already works.
Unlike a chat window, Nibwrite treats output as a path you can rewind and branch. Every choice is kept, so you can step back to any point and try a different route.

- Why this name
- A nib is the point of a pen: control at the exact spot where words appear. Short, plain and easy to say.

Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users export finished text and a short replay of the choices behind it to clients and editors, with a small made-with note on shared review links.
- Do they become customers?
- Reviewers who open a link may be writers themselves, but most only read. Test whether review-link viewers click through and start a free session.
- First customers
- Freelance translators and small translation agencies working on post-editing of machine-generated drafts in one language pair.
- Where to reach them
- Translator communities: Share short demos in translator forums and groups showing a pause, pick and resume on real sentences.
- Hacker News launch: Post a demo thread, since the idea came up there, and invite expert users to try it.
- First milestone
- Ten paying freelance translators on Pro within two months of launch.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimDeepL's UI allows users to click any word in translated text and see a list of alternatives, pick one, and have following text adapt to the choice.
- Public claimThe ability to stop generation at any token, sample alternatives, pick the desired next token and resume lets expert users guide and control output instead of fighting the tool.
- Public claimCurrent large language model frontends are ubiquitous chatbots that lack fine-grained control, creating a gap for better alternatives.
- VerifiedDeepL's pricing page lists 3 paid plans, from €7.49 to €49.99 a year, plus a free plan and prices on request for larger customers

RisksAI inference
- PlatformSome model providers do not expose token probabilities or let you continue from an edited prefix, which limits which models can power the product.
- TechnicalPer-token pause and resume may feel slow or cost more than single full generations, since each choice triggers a new call.
- CommercialEvidence is public claims only; it is unproven that enough professionals will pay for token-level control over a simpler regenerate button.
- CommercialIncumbents such as DeepL already offer word alternatives in translation, and could extend them to more uses.
