ScreensConcept
Desktop app: Data engineers write React code, manage API vaults, and review cost dashboards in sustained development sessions requiring a full keyboard and monitor. Sample screens on a computer, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Tilework lets data teams build interactive React apps on top of their data warehouse. Write the code, connect a warehouse, and publish an internal tool that people can act in, not only read.
External API calls go through a server-side vault, so keys never sit in front-end code or in each developer's notes. An app can read warehouse tables, call an outside API, and show the combined result.
It is for data engineers and analytics teams who have outgrown static dashboards. Apps are plain code in your own repository, so AI coding agents and normal code review work with them.

- Why this name
- A tile is a small solid piece set into a larger surface. Each app is a tile laid on your warehouse. Short, plain and easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
React apps on your warehouse
Query warehouse tables from typed React code and ship interactive tools with forms, filters and actions.

Secure API vault
Store external API credentials once. Apps call them through a server-side proxy; keys never reach the browser.

Code in your repository
Apps are ordinary files in Git. Review, branch and roll back as you do for other code, and let AI agents edit them.

Read-only warehouse roles
Connect with scoped credentials. Per-app limits on tables and rows keep each tool to the data it needs.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. Apps are shared with colleagues in a workspace. Each person who needs to use or edit an app is invited, and operations or finance staff who use an app may ask for new ones.
- Do they become customers?
- Invited viewers are mostly colleagues of an existing customer. Test whether they become builders or push other teams to buy a workspace, rather than only viewing.
- First customers
- Data engineers at 20 to 200 person software companies who already run a cloud warehouse and have outgrown their BI dashboards.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and dev forums: Share a worked example of a warehouse-backed approval app, with source code, and invite readers to try it.
- Data engineering communities: Post in community channels and meetups, offering free setup for teams that want to build one internal app.
- First milestone
- Five teams each deploy a real internal app, and two of them pay for the Team tier within 60 days.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimTeams want to build more ambitious, interactive applications on top of data warehouses that go beyond traditional dashboards
- Public claimExisting solutions require manual credential management for external API integration
- Public claimCode-driven approaches are becoming necessary for modern data work
- Public claimThere is demand for converting dashboards into interactive internal applications

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalRunning customer code safely, with isolation between tenants and limits on runaway warehouse queries, is the hardest part and could delay launch.
- CommercialBruin limits its similar feature to select customers because of cost. Usage-based margins may be thin if warehouse queries are heavy.
- DataCustomers must trust a new vendor with warehouse access and API keys. Security reviews may slow early sales.
- CommercialOnly public claims show demand. It is unproven that teams will pay for this rather than build internal apps themselves.
