About this appAI proposal
Trailnote is a job search tracker for people applying to many roles at once. Save a posting, log where you applied, set the next follow-up, and see your whole search on one board instead of a spreadsheet and a notebook.
Paste a job description and Trailnote compares it with your resume, showing missing keywords and weak bullets so you can adjust before you send. It also shows which resume versions and sources lead to replies.
The material notes that job seekers worry about data privacy. Trailnote keeps resumes private by default, deletes everything in one step, and says plainly when text is sent to an AI model. You choose whether that happens.

- Why this name
- A trail is the path of a search; a note is the small record you keep along it. Two plain words, easy to say.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Trailnote is a personal tool, so use does not reach new people by itself. Growth would come from content about job search, community posts and word of mouth among job seekers.
- Do they become customers?
- Users are the buyers, but each one leaves after finding work. Test whether free users upgrade during a search and whether they refer friends who are also searching.
- First customers
- Mid-career professionals laid off or changing jobs in one field, such as software or marketing, applying to 20 or more roles in a search.
- Where to reach them
- Job search communities: Offer the free tracker in subreddits and Slack groups for laid-off tech and marketing workers, and ask for feedback.
- Open-source job tracker users: Reach people who use or star self-hosted trackers on GitHub and offer a hosted, private alternative.
- Career coaches: Give coaches free accounts to recommend to clients, and learn which features clients ask for.
- First milestone
- Five paying Pro users from one job-seeker community within 60 days of launch.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialThe material names no competitors or prices, so willingness to pay for AI resume review over a free spreadsheet is unproven. Job seekers also churn once hired.
- DataResumes hold personal data. A leak or unclear AI data handling would break the privacy promise. Needs encryption, deletion and clear consent.
- AIMatch scores and rewrite suggestions can be wrong or generic. Users may over-trust them, so the tool must show its reasons.
- TechnicalImporting postings from job boards may be blocked by their terms. The first version relies on pasted text or links entered by the user.
