Desktop app: Development teams compare LLM outputs and costs side-by-side in detailed tables, reviewing quality and staging traffic shifts—desk work. Sample screens on a computer, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Swapline helps teams that run production features on a hosted LLM API prepare for the day a model is deprecated or its price jumps. You replay your real prompts against other providers and open-source models, then compare quality and cost side by side.
When a notice arrives, you already know your options. Swapline shows which prompts hold up on a replacement, which need edits, and what the monthly bill would be. You then shift traffic in steps, with a one-click way back.
It is for development teams running LLMs in production. Prompts and test cases stay in your own workspace and export as plain files, so you are not tied to one vendor's format, including ours.

- Why this name
- Swap says what the product does: change one model for another. Line is the single endpoint your traffic runs through.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.
If it makes
Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Swapline sits behind customers' products and is not seen by their users. Reach comes from content on deprecation and price changes, a free cost calculator, and word of mouth among engineers.
- Do they become customers?
- Visitors to the calculator are the buyers themselves. Test whether free cost what-if users go on to run a replay and then pay.
- First customers
- Engineering leads at small software companies with 1 to 3 production features on one hosted LLM API and a monthly model bill that has recently risen.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and developer forums: Post worked migration write-ups and a free cost calculator where deprecation and price threads already appear.
- Direct outreach: Contact engineers who publicly mention deprecation or price pain and offer a free migration check.
- First milestone
- Five teams complete a replay on a real feature and three of them pay for a plan within 60 days.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimCustomers are experiencing 5x price increases when required to upgrade from deprecated models to newer versions.
- Public claimModel deprecation and discontinuation are forcing customers to make difficult migration decisions immediately.
- Public claimCustomers are responding to vendor pricing and discontinuation by considering full migration to open-source models.
- Public claimOrganizations recognize the risk of vendor lock-in with proprietary LLM providers.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalAdding a proxy puts Swapline in the request path. Added latency or downtime would hurt customers, so the first version may need to be a replay and cost tool only.
- CommercialGateway and evaluation tools may already exist and the material names none. Teams may build their own switch layer or only act when a deprecation hits.
- AIAutomatic quality scoring and prompt adapters can be wrong. Pass rules need human review, or teams may trust a migration that hurts users.
- DataReplaying real logs may include personal or confidential data. Customers will need redaction and clear retention rules before they upload.
- PlatformProvider terms or API changes may limit routing, comparison or benchmark use, and adapters need constant upkeep.
