About this appAI proposal
Nearvoice is a workspace for developers who give AI agents a voice. It runs the whole speech loop on your own hardware: voice activity detection, speech to text, text to speech and barge-in, so the agent stops talking when you do. Audio does not have to leave the device.
You point it at any LLM or coding agent through a local endpoint, then test and tune the loop in the app. See where time goes in each turn, replay sessions and compare speech models side by side. Teams can share settings that work.
It is aimed at teams who use cloud voice services today and want less cloud dependency, lower latency and fewer privacy trade-offs. This is a proposal: an open-source core is the base and the workspace is the paid layer.

- Why this name
- Near means close to the user and fast to respond. Voice says what it does. Two plain words, easy to say aloud.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Full speech loop on device
VAD, speech to text, text to speech and barge-in run locally. No audio goes to a third-party cloud unless you choose it.

Works with any LLM or agent
Connect a local model, a hosted API or a coding agent through one endpoint. Swap the brain without rebuilding the voice.

Turn timeline
See each turn split into listening, transcribing, thinking and speaking, so you can find what makes your agent feel slow.

Barge-in tuning
Adjust interruption sensitivity and silence limits, then replay recorded sessions to check the change on real speech.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users export redacted turn traces and benchmark links showing latency and barge-in results. Teammates and open-source contributors open them in a read-only viewer that names Nearvoice.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers are often fellow developers who could become users, but a link opened once is not a customer. Test how many viewers install the app and start a free session.
- First customers
- Small teams of 2 to 10 developers building voice-enabled coding assistants or agents who care about privacy and latency.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub open-source community: Offer the workspace to people starring and discussing local voice agent projects; post benchmark write-ups in issues and discussions.
- Developer forums and Discord: Share the turn timeline and model compare results in communities for local LLM and agent builders.
- First milestone
- Ten teams use it weekly for a month, and five pay for Pro or Team.

- This app · On-device speech modelsWebGPU and WASM open speech modelsThe loop must run in the browser or a local helper, so it needs open VAD, speech to text and text to speech models.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalBrowser-only models may be too slow or large on average laptops, so a local helper app may be required, which adds install steps.
- CommercialThe core is open source, so people may use it free and not pay for the workspace. Paid value must come from tuning and team features.
- PlatformBrowser microphone, background audio and WebGPU support differ by browser and operating system, especially on phones.
- AILocal speech models may be less accurate or natural than cloud services, which could disappoint users who compare them directly.
- Intellectual propertyOpen speech models have differing licences; some limit commercial use. Each bundled model needs a licence check.
