ScreensConcept
Desktop app: Mac users scan folders locally, review duplicate groups, and manage file cleanup—tasks that happen at the computer being cleaned. Sample screens on a computer, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Lintfree is a web app you install from the browser. You pick folders on your Mac, and it scans them on your device for duplicate files, large forgotten files, old downloads and leftover app caches. Nothing is uploaded, and no account is needed to scan.
It is made for Mac users who do not want a cleaner with a subscription or one that collects data about their files. You see every item and its path before anything moves, and removed items go to the Trash first so you can undo.
It does not claim to scan for malware or tune the system, because a browser app cannot do that. It does one job: show where your disk space went and let you reclaim it safely.

- Why this name
- Lint is the small build-up that collects over time. Lintfree says the result in two plain syllables without promising miracles.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.

Matches files by size and content hash inside your browser. Your files are never sent to a server.

Folder-by-folder access
You grant access to chosen folders only and can revoke it any time. No full-disk permission is requested.

Review before removal
Every candidate shows path, size and last opened date. Nothing is selected for you by default.

PricingAI proposal
CleanMyMac's pricing page (verified) lists one paid plan at $3.33 a month. Plus is a one-time starting point to test, not a market figure; the material gives no other prices.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Reached through search, open-source and Mac communities, and a clear privacy explanation. The product has no built-in sharing loop, since scan results are private by design.
- Do they become customers?
- Every visitor who scans can become a paying user. To test: how many free scans lead to Plus, and whether users trust a browser app with folder access.
- First customers
- Mac users with a nearly full disk who are privacy-minded and dislike subscriptions, such as developers and photographers with large libraries.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source communities: Post the source and a privacy write-up on GitHub and Hacker News-style forums where open Mac tools gain stars.
- Mac subreddits and forums: Answer disk-space questions with a free scan link and an honest note on limits.
- First milestone
- 500 completed scans and 25 paid Plus purchases within 60 days of launch.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformSafari on Mac lacks full folder read and write access in the browser. The first version may need Chromium-based browsers, which limits the audience.
- TechnicalHashing very large folders in a browser can be slow and memory heavy. Size-first matching and chunked hashing must be tested on real disks.
- CommercialWithout malware scanning or system tuning it covers less than CleanMyMac, so users who want an all-in-one tool may not switch.
- CommercialUsers expect free tools in this space. Whether enough people pay for a one-time Plus tier is untested.
