About this appAI proposal
Folio Vault is a Markdown editor that looks and works the same in a desktop browser and on your iPhone. Notes live in plain folders, not tags, and your chosen theme follows you to every device.
Mark any folder or file as private and it is encrypted on your device before it syncs. Only your passphrase opens it, so sensitive drafts and client notes stay readable only to you.
It is for writers and developers who like a focused desktop editor and are tired of switching to a different app on the phone. Themes are plain CSS files you can edit and share.

- Why this name
- A folio is a sheet of writing and a vault keeps it safe. Together they say notes in folders with real privacy.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Reached through content and communities where Markdown users discuss editors. Shared themes could carry the name, but the product has no built-in sharing loop.
- Do they become customers?
- Test whether Typora users who need iOS will pay for sync and encryption after a free trial of the PWA.
- First customers
- Developers and technical writers who use Typora on desktop and keep notes in folders, and who need private notes on iPhone.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News: Show HN post and replies in threads about Markdown editors on iOS and encryption.
- Reddit and Markdown forums: Share free themes and a folder import guide in writing and developer communities.
- First milestone
- Fifty free installs from Typora users and ten paying for sync and encryption within a month.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformiOS web apps can have storage limits and weaker background sync, so offline notes may be evicted or sync late until the app is reopened.
- TechnicalIf users lose their passphrase, encrypted notes cannot be recovered. Recovery options must be designed without weakening encryption.
- CommercialTypora is a one-time $14.99 and Bear has a $2.99 monthly plan, so willingness to pay for a new editor is unproven.
- CommercialUsers may expect native-app polish and a Typora-like editing feel, which a PWA must match to win them over.
