About this appAI proposal
Loamkeep sits between your AI agent and its memory store. Instead of only saving every embedding, it merges near-duplicates, flags facts that contradict each other, and lets unimportant memories fade over time, much like human memory does.
It is for teams running agents in production, where memory stores have grown past the point that plain vector search stays sharp. You keep your current vector database. Loamkeep adds a curation layer and a review dashboard, and shows what it changed.
Nothing is silently deleted. Every merge, conflict and fade is logged, can be previewed before it runs, and can be undone, so you can trust the memory your agent recalls.

- Why this name
- Loam is rich soil where old material breaks down and feeds new growth, like merging and fading memories. Keep means it stays under your control.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Duplicate consolidation
Finds near-identical memories and merges them into one record that keeps sources and timestamps, so recall stops returning the same fact five times.
No member yet
Contradiction flags
Detects memories that disagree, such as an old and a new address, and queues them with both sources so the newer or trusted one can win.
No member yet
Temporal decay
Memories lose weight unless they are recalled or marked important. Set decay by memory type, and pin facts that must never fade.
No member yet
Dry run and undo
Preview any merge or fade as a diff before it applies. Every change is logged and reversible, so curation stays safe.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Partners and integrations. Ship plugins for popular agent frameworks and vector databases, and list them in their plugin directories and docs, so builders find Loamkeep while adding memory to an agent.
- Do they become customers?
- Builders who install the plugin are the buyers, so reach is also acquisition. To test: whether free-tier developers hit memory limits and upgrade within weeks.
- First customers
- Small teams of 2 to 10 engineers running a customer-facing AI agent in production with a memory store of 10,000 or more items and visible recall problems.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and dev forums: Follow up with people in the original memory discussion; offer a free audit of their store and publish before and after recall results.
- Agent framework communities: Post the plugin and a worked example in Discords and GitHub discussions where builders ask about long-term memory.
- Technical blog posts: Write about memory decay and conflict handling with open test sets that readers can run on their own data.
- First milestone
- Five teams connect a real store with 10k+ memories, and three pay for the Team tier after a free audit shows better recall.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedHacker News post received 48 points and 33 comments
- Public claimVector databases do not manage memories effectively and recall quality degrades after accumulating many memories due to lack of consolidation, forgetting, and conflict resolution.
- Public claimAI agents using unmanaged vector databases become noisier and less reliable as memory accumulates.
- Public claimThe solution implements active memory management including consolidation of duplicates, contradiction detection, and temporal decay similar to human memory.

RisksAI inference
- AIWrongly merging distinct facts or missing a real contradiction would harm recall. Needs conservative defaults, dry runs and undo, and measured precision before auto-apply.
- CommercialVector database vendors or agent frameworks may add their own consolidation and decay, leaving a thin gap. Demand rests on one public discussion, so it needs testing with real teams.
- DataCustomers' agent memories can hold personal or confidential data. Handling it needs strong isolation, deletion controls and possibly self-hosting.
- TechnicalEach vector database stores data differently, so connectors and keeping scores in sync with a live store add ongoing work.
- CommercialLLM costs for conflict judging scale with memory size and could squeeze margins at the low tiers.
