ScreensConcept
Desktop app: Teams benchmark voice models on call samples and set routing constraints; this analytical work and configuration happens at a desk. Sample screens on a computer, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Lanewise helps teams that run voice agents pick the right speech-to-text, language model and text-to-speech combination, then keep it current. You declare what matters (accuracy, latency, cost or a balance), and Lanewise tests available models on your own call samples and languages.
Your voice traffic goes through one endpoint. When a better or cheaper stack wins your benchmark, you switch in a dashboard without re-integrating. Run the hosted router with managed keys and one bill, or run the open-source local gateway with your own keys, so audio takes no extra network hop.
It is built for founders, engineers and product teams who chose their models once and never went back, because re-evaluating felt like an R&D project. Results are shown openly, with the test set and scoring method attached.

- Why this name
- A lane is the path a call takes through models. Wise means the choice is made on tested results, not habit. Two plain words, easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Constraint-based model picks
Choose accuracy, latency, cost or balanced. Lanewise ranks full STT, LLM and TTS combinations against that goal.

Benchmarks on your own audio
Upload call samples by language and domain, such as medical vocabulary, and see how each model scores on them.

Transparent results
Every score links to its test set, method and run date, so your team can check why a stack ranked first.

One-click model switching
Change the active stack from the dashboard. Your app keeps the same endpoint, with no new integration.

PricingAI proposal
The material gives no voice-router prices. OpenRouter lists a free plan, paid plans and larger-customer pricing on request, with no figures. The $49 tier is a starting point to test.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Partners and integrations. The open-source gateway is listed in voice agent frameworks' docs and example repos. Each install shows Lanewise in config and logs, and public benchmark pages are linked from posts and issues.
- Do they become customers?
- Gateway users are builders who can upgrade to the hosted router, but many may stay on free BYOK. Test how many free gateway installs ask for managed keys or alerts.
- First customers
- Seed to Series A startups with voice agents handling thousands of calls a day, starting with the engineer or founder who owns the model stack.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and dev forums: Publish open benchmark results and a write-up of how the tests were scored.
- Voice agent communities: Offer free benchmark runs on a team's own call samples in exchange for feedback.
- Open-source repos: Release the gateway with ready-made examples for common voice frameworks.
- First milestone
- Five teams in production with voice agents pay for the hosted router after a free benchmark run.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedHacker News post received 118 points and 69 comments
- Public claimTeams running voice agents manually evaluate and select model stacks once, then rarely re-evaluate despite new and better options becoming available
- Public claimVoice agents in production continue using outdated models from previous quarters even when better and cheaper alternatives exist
- Public claimThe process of evaluating new speech models is costly and time-consuming, requiring hiring native speakers and benchmarking

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalStreaming voice routing adds latency and is a failure point on live calls. The hosted router needs fallbacks and tight overhead budgets.
- CommercialModel vendors or LLM routers may add voice routing, and teams may not pay for a layer between them and providers.
- DataCall audio can hold personal or medical data. Storing samples needs consent, retention limits and clear handling terms.
- AIScores from automated judges or small samples can mislead. Benchmarks need clear methods and, for some languages, human raters.
- PlatformResale of managed keys depends on provider terms, rate limits and price changes that can erase margin.
