About this appAI proposal
Tallybook is a scheduling assistant for recruiters and staffing coordinators. It reads replies from email, SMS, WhatsApp and Slack, pulls out the constraints people state, checks calendars, and proposes times. It chases people who go quiet.
Each person gets messages on the channel they actually answer. When one interview moves, Tallybook finds the other bookings it affects and offers new times. A coordinator reviews and approves, or lets routine cases run on their own.
The material says existing tools fail because their interaction patterns do not fit different user segments and channels. Tallybook starts with editable rules by role and channel, then adjusts from your own results.

- Why this name
- Tallybook: a tally counts replies, a book holds the confirmed slots. Two plain words, easy to say aloud. Needs a trademark check.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Constraints from messy replies
Reads text like "after 3 my time, not Fridays" and turns it into rules per person, in any supported channel.

Channel by person
Sends each proposal by email, SMS, WhatsApp or Slack, based on where that person replied before.

Automatic nudges
Follows up on non-responders on a schedule you set, switching channel if the first goes unanswered.

Cascade rebooking
When one slot changes, it lists the linked interviews affected and drafts new proposals for approval.

Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Candidates and interviewers get proposals, reminders and confirmations with a Tallybook-branded reply link. Each one is a small page showing times in their own timezone, which they see in every booking.
- Do they become customers?
- Candidates mostly just see it, but interviewers and hiring managers at client firms may be coordinators elsewhere. Test whether any ask to use it themselves after a few bookings.
- First customers
- Small staffing agencies with 3 to 15 coordinators who schedule high-volume interviews across SMS and email with candidates in several timezones.
- Where to reach them
- Founder-led outreach: Message agency owners and ops leads on LinkedIn, offering a two-week pilot on live interview loops.
- Hacker News thread: Reply in the scheduling discussion and invite commenters with the same problem to a pilot.
- Recruiter communities: Share a short before-and-after of one rebooking cascade in recruiting Slack and forum groups.
- First milestone
- Five staffing agencies pay for a 30-day pilot, and each has at least 100 interviews scheduled through it.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformWhatsApp business messaging and SMS carrier registration have approval steps and rules. Delays or limits could slow onboarding for new customers.
- AIMisreading a constraint could double-book or message a candidate wrongly. Review-first mode and clear logs are needed before any automation.
- DataLearning patterns by demographic raises fairness and privacy concerns. The first version should use role and channel only, with consent and retention rules.
- CommercialEvidence of demand is a public claim from one thread. Agencies may stay with existing tools or ATS built-in scheduling.
- TechnicalATS and calendar integrations differ widely. Each one adds work, and the cost may slow early customer onboarding.
